    • Sometimes you just have to wait until you download photos to a lap top…   BLM Three Rivers Petroglyph site. This may be 1of 2 campgrounds. Visitor center closed and camp host (?) not available. The second campground is 10+ miles closer to the mountains, but website listed it as closed due forest fire. No indication it was on sign going in.    BLM Valley of Fires campground and lava flow. Sites are on a ridge overlooking the lava flow and paved foot trail (1 mi). Tent sites are off the ridge, up against the lava flow.
    • That is strange. I had no problems with my  Torchbeam T2 H13/9008 LED Bulbs
    • Greetings. I am starting my Nissan NV3500 van build. Can you share how you hooked up the Victron Orion to the alternator? Did you run a wire all the way from the alternator to the Victron Orion? Is there a junction fuse box in the cargo or driver area where I can hook the Victron Orion to the alternator system?
    • That is odd.  I have the torchbeams installed and they are wired properly and function as factory. Perhaps the units you received were faulty, although it would be odd to have a matching pair that were wired incorrectly.
    • One last update to this thread.  I thought that I had a successful install but...  Installed Torchbeams during the day and tested that headlights came on which they did.  Finally got around to checking headlight aim (during the night) and discovered that the Torchbeam T6 style, H13/9008 model is wired wrong for the NV.  When low beams are selected the high beams are on and vice versa.  Could possibly live with this but really don't want to see the high beam indicator in the instrument cluster on all the time.  Can't flip the plug around because it has a tab and can only go one way.  So the stock OEM headlights are back in and the Torchbeams are being returned.  Will have to research what other options are out there.
    • 50th NV trip. Took longer than we planned to get it done.    Loop trip to SW New Mexico. Planned to start out in Silver City and end in Las Cruces before heading home. Weather forecast flipped this.    Started out at Aguirre Springs campground (BLM) on the east side of Organ Mountains National Monument. Beautiful area and views.    Next up was Valley of Fires camp-ground (BLM) with stops at White Sands National Park and Three Rivers Petroglyph Site. (Skip this if you have seen other rock art. Not well maintained by BLM.) Valley of Fires is a lava flow. (OK to use tents only area if not towing.)    Last destination was Datil Wells campground (BLM). Another beautiful area with views. Cold at 7000’. Snow as well.
    • I removed every item that was on the CAN bus; after-market intrusion alarm, remote start, Blue Driver, anther toy that monitored the engine and transmission performances. I also removed a disconnect switch from the main battery, and cleaned the terminals. No problems for 2,500 miles. No Blue Driver error codes. Smooth running engine.   I had the aftermarket alarm system (   Clifford high end alarm   ) reinstalled and activated two days ago. The first day after installation, the alarm goes off for no reason when I got home and then again this morning at 0530. My poor neighbors....   To see if there were error codes again, I plugged in the Blue Driver. There is a CAN bus communication error showing up.  Ha, just like old times! I also thought/felt I noticed a drag feeling of the engine. Poor performance, like subtle misfires dragging the performance down.   I've spent the last two years dealing with false alarms and engine not starting and feeling poor performance. I called the alarm installer in town at 10 this morning. The alarm comes out this coming Monday. Alarm put in Valet mode. Everything now points to the aftermarket alarm messing up the bus. I do not know the bandwidth and capability of the CAN bus. I know the alarm is on the bus. Now the bus shows errors. Maybe the bus is not robust enough to handle what the alarm talks? Any opinions?   I keep a lot of valuable things in my van at times. I want the little intrusion security an alarm system offers. Anyone have experience with a good functioning after market alarm/remote start system for an NV-3500 passenger van?
    • Just back. All BLM, except for a coffee, 2nd or 3rd breakfast, in White Sands National Park. No different from when it was a Monument.    BLM has upped their game in web sites and pdf links.
    • Glad to hear you were successful
    • We aim for Southern Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.  Mostly BLM camping.  We check the weather each morning and determine the route!
