2017 Nissan NV - any updates

Recommended Posts

Is there any news about the 2017 Nissan NV vans? Anyone know if they are going to do any major updates? Any news of redesign?

I spoke with NIssan dealer and they told me that there will be no updates for the vehicle in 2017 model.

Did anyone hear otherwise?

nissanreviewreleas.com has an interesting article that is sort of in sync with chris_cm's hints This 4/1 (mind the date) article is more about GM giving up on their van, teaming up with Nissan and rebadging the NV, and using GM engines. This would include their diesel... May show up on Nissan as well.

Not much about other Nissan NVP changes. This and another Googled site read like a 2016 brochure. The other site, however, made no mention of GM or diesel.

More than likely a repeat April Fools...

It would nice to get that new 5.6 engine. However, I kind of hope they go unchanged in 2017 since I just bought a 2016.  :)

Even if they have the new 5.6, I would be hesitant to get the first year model. I would wait till they work out the kinks first.

I am weary of the engines produced under the new federal regulations. Diesel engines are not what they used to be. I would not touch Eco-Boost with a ten foot pole. They do look good on the paper though.

Don't expect anything.  These products have very long life cycles.  Like last year I'm sure we'll see some minor changes....IE 2015 side bags were optional, now standard.  Added the SL model on cargo but it's just a gussied up SV from the previous year.  We'd know about it if there was a big change by now.

Rumors are abound about the GM thing though as radin2son has eluded to.

Look how long it took Nissan to change the Titan!  I dont think we'll see any changes anytime soon.  They're still trying to churn these out as it sits.

I'm all for long shelf life and incremental changes, some good, some questionable and some, "what were they thinking?" It keeps our 2012 SV looking fresh and resale value reasonably higher; although, the SMB conversion throws a wrinkle in this.

I also am glad we went with all available SV options (tow package and additional air bags for example) that became standard with newer models.
