Resetting TPMS

Recommended Posts

I changed my own tires over and apparently the computer doesn't recognise the new placements.

The warning light is staying on now.

How do you reset yours?

Thanks,

Dustin

The manual takes you through the steps. Access to an air compressor is crucial.

Any Nissan dealership can do this for you, maybe even at no charge.

Looks simple enough. Thanks.

Maybe Dustin was happy to DIY, maybe he took it to Nissan.  Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't find it easy.  I mark-up the owners manual with notes every time I do this.  The one practical thing I've learned is to do the reset with all four wheels laying on the ground in proper placement, but in a small pile.  It saves the running around with the air hose.  And my 11 YO is another essential tool seated in the driver's seat.

I must be missing something.  This process makes me curse every time.

I agree with you on this. The process could not be made any more complicated, imo. I just took it to Nissan dealership (my local mechanic couldn't reset it). Once Nissan reset it, no issues came up. (in my case, the issue arose when tires were changed out)

I am glad that you found a way to make it work. You are very creative with your 11YO, haha.

I had Discount install new rubber and they were able to reset with the OBD.  Now that's easy!  I was shocked!  I may have to bring it in to Discount for rotate every 5k.

Ever notice those guys - like all of them at every Discount - are really sharp?  Well mannered, handsome, well groomed, polite.  Hummm?
