Drivers Side Electric Window Fail

Recommended Posts

Hello all.  I have a 2015 NV 2500.  About two days ago the drivers window made a horrible sound when I tried to lower it.  I managed to get the glass back up by pressing with the palm of my hand and pushing the window up button.  The next day I forgot and lowered the glass and then it would not rise again.  It made a horrible noise when it failed.

I brought it to the dealer today.  They called me and asked me what happened, they said someone must have had the door open.  Bolts were broken, some missing and the motor was wedged against the door.  I explained that no on has had the door open.  They need to order an actuator that will not be in for a couple of days so it looks like I will be driving with no drivers side window.

Is this is a known issue?  Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Nope, I have not heard of this before. I am not sure what you mean by 'had the door open' since it's sort of difficult to NOT have the door open. Do you mean someone tried  to force it open and broke it in process?

I think he meant it looked like somebody took off the interior door panel and was messing around inside the actual door.  I cant see how bolts would just break on their own unless it was really bound up.  I also cant see a bolt just going missing.  If this was just off the assembly line then it could have been a totally botched assembly.  This sounds like it worked fine for two years and now things are missing or broke.
