Have only had my new van (2017 NV200 SV) for a couple of weeks and have had it lock itself several times. I did the deactivating process after reading procedure here. Seems to be ok for now. My question is...how did I activate this feature? I never knew the auto lock feature existed until now. I always have keys in pocket even when fueling. At some point I'm going to screw up and leave the keys in the truck and get locked out. Seems like a ridiculous feature. How lazy have we become that we can't even lock our cars manually?

What auto lock?  My 2015 3500 SL does not auto lock other than driving over 15 mph.

Probably not your situation, but standard. When you lock, but do not open the door, it will relock. I’’ve had this happen in multiple vehicles including our NV.

Possibly your situation. The auto-key is very sensitive and does not take much pressure to lock when in your pocket.

You appear to have found the long ago post for this problem, so this is not exclusive to 2017 models.

I agree with radin2son about the key fob buttons being too sensitive. I used to accidently lock/unlock my van a lot until I decided to cover the buttons. Here's my remote starter key fob, but the same principle applies to the Nissan version. http://nissannvforum.com/topic/1481-whats-on-your-keychain/?p=10014
