Picking up 2012 Nissan NV High Roof this month

Recommended Posts

Picking up 2012 Nissan NV High Top this month.

Tim here in Seattle working on a build to create a cool conversion for mobile office and exploration van. Goal is to keep this modular and light so I can move around the interior space depending on the Van use case.

Interested in parts and DIY for:

  • Security, Locks, Alarms, Kill Switch
  • Insulation
  • Heating
  • Headlights
  • Lift & Tires - Snow
  • Awning
  • Bumper
  • Extra Windows
  • Vent
  • Kitchen
  • Bike Rack
  • Kayak Rack
  • Snowboard / Skiing setup
  • Engine mods - exhaust, computers, air, etc.

Pro-Tips Wanted for first time 2012 NV 2500 High Roof owner?

Love to hear any must learn or do things for the van. I hear about auto locking doors, how to manually shift? Other?

Thanks! Tim

A rare red NV...

I think his name is Tim Lutz on instagram: he also has a blog, travelogue, but this isn’t updated regularly. I haven’t looked at either in a very long time. He has one of the best full time office/camper conversions for 1 person. 2 would stretch it’s limits. Info is posted somewhere under conversions but it would probably be easier to do your own search.

Problems with these vans are few. Recalls fewer. 2012 NVs had a few minor recalls that should have been taken care of by the previous owner, but you can check this on the NV web site.

Welcome, nice color.  Check out my build under Conversions then "Laharview Farm Camper Build" for my version of insulation, awning, and windows.
