Heat Works up front fine & warm & back bowing only cold from the floor?

Recommended Posts

So I have a 2013 Nissan NV3500 took to the dealer & they said its the heater core. So they told me to look at my warranty  when I get home so I did & called them & they said they would replace if its not plugged. So I called back the dealer & service had no clue & got back to me & said its clogged after I told her they will cover if not clogged. So if its clogged why is the front working. They claimed the last family they tore apart & found a toy in it & it wasn't covered so they are guessing its a toy. SO I ask her well where should i watch & look so no more toys get in there & she said she doesn't know??

Also never gave me any paperwork either.

That sounds weird.  How could a toy get into the heater core?  Maybe if the cover was broken on the air return vent in the back, then a toy could get inside the duct.  Otherwise, that sounds fishy to me.

The return vent is on the driver's side, between the 4th row and the rear doors.  Take a look to make sure the plastic panel covering it is intact.  Anything bigger than confetti would have a hard time fitting through it.  I have heard hair, dust, etc. getting sucked up in there and clogging the fan.  But you're still getting air flow.  I bet the problem is with a thermostat that controls the flow of hot engine coolant to the heater core.

Doh! Looks like I was wrong about the location of the air return vent. I did some experimentation and found that it's to the left of the second row. So, does anyone know what that grill by the back left door is for?
