Rear AC vents not hardly working

Recommended Posts

Living in Arizona this is a very important feature and I am very disappointed so far in our 2016 performance. Almost no support at the dealership level! Can someone not find a modified blower fan wheel that blows more air to those vents? Serious oversight on Nissan's behalf with this vehicle.

If ANYONE has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated by myself and my 5 kids who sit in the back.

Last time I checked, there are 6 commercial dealerships in the Phoenix area. Surely, one is up to the task. If not get on the phone to Nissn Commercial...

Complaining here doesn’t help get it fixed.

You are right.... We need to let Nissan know... They want to charge every-time I ask them why it is not working.... They know it is a problem and I do not need them to teat the temp of the air coming from the vent each time and tell me, "It is working as it is supposed too". I would be happy to put in an after market blower.

What boggles my mind is I have a KIA minivan with three rows of seats. In the third row, the air come through the roof very ard and ice cold... My NV, in the second row you can barley feel any of the air at all... I am trying to find an air conditioning specialist in the Phoenix area, anyone know of one?

Have you interacted with the dealer service manager? Area rep? Be a pain...

Keep all paperwork of each visit. Each dealer will have this as well. Nissan Commercial will contact them to verify this, your documented claim history. (I had an emmisions repair come up not long after the 36k warranty expired. Since there was a documented history, Nissan Commercial reimbursed me. The dealer’s initial response was good luck with that.) Push to have it fixed and to reimburse you if charged to check a warranty issue.

I read somewhere that Nissan parts have a life time warranty. Check the fine print on the blower and invoice.

Regarding a good ac shop, contact an independent Nissan etc service shop to see who they recommend or have them do it. (Contact Nissan Commercial first.) I think car talk still has a list of recommended car service shops by city.)

On you other post, PM the person who fixed the rear blower. They may no longer check this forum.

Can you locate another NVP to see if the ac blower works better? Preferably it would be on the lot of a commercial dealer and the service manager can compare both...

There is nothing wrong with dumping a vehicle that doesn’t meet your needs or expectations. If the Transit does, go for it.

hey all, i know this a year old thread, but I like putting information in the pertinent areas.

A guy over on the facebook NV owners forum (same one who put together the rear AC filter kit) has put some load balancers together for the Rear AC system.  basically limits the air flow to the front and forces air to the rear.  holy crap they work great.     just shows that Nissan didn't design the system, just put a straight duct and poked some holes in it.

This isn't mine, but it works so well for mine ( had the same problem, barely any air coming out of the rear vents) that I'd love for someone else searching for something to find it here:

We have a new 2019 NV3500 van and our rear vents do not put out any air flow. It SOUNDS like a tornado but nothing flows in the back. The dealer said it is a faulty design but I just can’t imagine there is nothing to fix this? It seems like something must not be connected right!!! Please help. We have kids the get really car sick when there is no air flow.

Although this hasn’t been a problem for everyone, it may be the one reason not to buy an NVP. This comment doesn’t help you and Nissan Corp isn’t going to as well if they discontinue NVs next summer.

Try the diy fixes mentioned above or take it to an independent ac shop.(Look at the “Need help with rear ac” thread as well.) Show the shop  the suggested fixes. If the dealer wrote up your ac issue and cannot fix it, you can always try to get Nissan Commercial customer services to reimburse you for any independent shop work. Good luck with that...

Your NVP is too good a van to not try to fix this on your own.

Sadly, if this can’t be fixed you may have to cut your loses and go with a Transit. Google Transit ac issues first to see if similar problems exist.

Has anyone had any luck getting Nissan to fix this issue?

Try to deal with the service manager at the same dealership or go to another.

PM Michele Gravina to see if diy fix worked.
