AmidonE Posted November 13, 2012 Anyone tried a cold air kit for the V6? Was thinking of trying the one that K&N makes for the frontier, if anyone has any input that would be great!
jrcollins3 Posted February 3, 2013 I just bought my van but I can share some toughts on other vans that I have had.Cold air intakes and especially high perforamce air filters do work to increase horsepower. However, if you do not add a more free-flowing exhaust to match the increased air flow you will also get much lower gas mileage. You need to talk to an experienced tuner to know what mods will increase your HP without adversely affecting your gas mileage.
xavman Posted March 3, 2013 So I put an Airaid Cold Intake, that was made for the Titan 2012. Everything worked great, except the air damper that came with the kit was NOT long enough. However, thanks to my desperation (don't you love how resourceful you become when you started working on the wife's car and the sun starts going down) i found a workaround. Go to a Lowes-type store, plumbing section. What you need is a 4 inch to 4 inch rubber flexible coupling (each end is 4 inches wide, and each end has its own clamp). If your area of the country does not have 4 inch plumbing as common, i would make sure i get this (preorder if necessary) when you order your Cold air intake...because I think the titan engine chassis width is slightly less wide than the NVP, and that extra inch of coupling was what made the final connection possible. xavman Posted March 3, 2013 Agree that a No-Sh!^ tuner needs to be made for this.

The Nissan sensor for some reason does not like the oil filters such as K&N. The air intake appears to be the same as the Frontier V6. I just put a drop in in my van today.
