I assume the 17’s will be a more comfortable ride. The 20’s are cool looking but not sure if they will look less beefy due to less sidewall. Opinions welcome. chphilo Posted November 20, 2017 What sort of roads are you likely to travel on? If you drive only on smooth roads and if you like to go fast (er) when turning, 20s will have slight advantage. If you drive normally and drive on normal roads, smaller wheels and more rubber wins over the counterpart in terms of functions (better mpg, better acceleration, better stopping, better ride, better price for tires, better price for wheels). Looks are subjective. I personally like the off-roadish look (smaller wheels and more rubber). But your decision will be based on what looks good to you. I changed out the stock 245/70/17 with 245/75/17 and even with that modest increase in sidewall, the difference in ride quality is noticeable. Lakehouse Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) so I ordered some 265/60r20 from the local shop but have a week till they arrive and I’m second guessing my choice (I can change anytime this week). I really want an off-road look and am thinking those 20’s might be lacking in the sidewall dept for the look I’m going for. Has anyone run (or heard of someone running) any of these sizes? Pics if possible. Also, any slider mod needed? 285/70r17285/75r17 probably a long shot on these fitting265/70r18 285/65r18 Ps. No lift and stock suspension.
