Muffler or Exhaust Tip Options for NV 3500SL

Recommended Posts

Please, any suggestions for Stainless Steel Bolt-On Exhaust tips?

have tried a couple of 2-1/2" that did not quite fit without cracking or breaking.

The NV exhaust O.D. at the tail pipe is a metric size and normal inch tips don't fit well. I wanted something different and some ground clearance, so I used a NASCAR oval zoom tip. I had it black powder coated because they come in bare steel and it fit the look of my van. Not cheap, but it is the look I wanted.

I put a 2.5” Flowmaster tip on a few years ago. Looks good and is holding up well, but as Idealer stated, I had to use a cut-off wheel to cut a slit in the stock exhaust pipe so the tip would slide on it.

I am not sure about the quality, but Walmart sells some tips. You may want to try one and see how it looks. They have pretty generous return policy if you don't like it.

I thought about putting an exhaust tip, but I thought stainless tip would stick out too much from the rest of the pipe on a black van. After about a year, the stock pipe was beginning to look bad, making the van look older. I just got some high temp black paint and applied to the pipe.
