I just bought a 2013 NV 2500 HD that I plan on turning into a camper to live out of for a while after college. It's going to be an "outdoor special" with space for bike storage and other gear. I had an old Chevy Express before and wanted to upgrade to something newer and taller.

Does anyone have any recommendations for roof vents? I had a Fantastic Fan vent in my last van and it was great but I would like to find something bigger (something more like a skylight). I've looked into boat hatches and other such openings but those are a lot of $$$.

Thanks.

Also check out weretherussos.com and their description of their class B ”ramvan.” It was built by a new RV HymerActiv (?) with the latest tech. Their videos are well done once you get past all the coffee he drinks.

Interesting that their conclusion was they wish they didn’t have the wet bath etc. Given your plans, you won’t have room.

Dirtbag diary and similar sites have good info as does Goal Zero.

Best roof vents you can get with the European low profile are from our friend in Oregon. I got the first one and need to get them to build a fitting CNC plastic for the NV roof ribs.

Connect with the crew here and also get your Thinsulate. DM me as I need to get mine done, waiting for the rains to stop in the NW.
