Vent control valve stuck open

Recommended Posts

Hello to you all;  I brought my Nissian 2500 HD to the Dealer due to an Engine light; they said the code ame up as P0448 and they said they had to replace the vent valve control, it was stuck open. They charged me $270.00 for Labor, $159.00 for parts, it took the mechanic 1 hour to complete; I feel like I got robbed.

I have 78,000 miles and I never had a problem with any parts going bad. I know It's a 2012 and I shoulgn't complain, BUT.

$270 for an hour? Ask them if they went by the book and it was supposed to be a 2-3 hour job or something. That seems a bit outrageous.

This is how most shops bill because it's how the mechanics get paid. If the dealership didn't bill it the shop down the road would.

It's a fair price. The guy has probably done a lot of them and has it down. Mechanics make good money because they are usually worth it.
