squeaky sliding door

Recommended Posts

Our 2014 NV passenger van has developed an annoying creaking squeaking noise in the big sliding door.

It probably comes from the mounting structure that carries the door open and closed.

My dealer made a valiant attempt at curing it with grease silicone pads.

I have sprayed the area with silicone lub all to no avail.

Has anyone else had the problem?  More importantly has anyone found a solution?

Are you 100% sure it is the door?

We have a squeak as well and for the longest time we all thought it was the sliding door, but it wasn't.

Turns out it is one/both of the smaller second/third row seats.

When one of the bigger kids sits in them, no squeak.  Spray them with some silicone spray and the squeak is going for a while, but will return and needs more spray.

Thanks Hawks259!

I thought it was the door too but went and wiggled the middle row small seat and found that was the culprit. I pulled the release strap and slammed it down hard. That seemed to fix it for a while but it comes back. A little silicone seems to fix it longer.

I showed a friend who's had one since 2013 that thought it was the door too. He was so surprised because he'd taken it to so many Nissan service stations and they couldn't fix it.
