Loose sideview mirror

Recommended Posts

Good Morning,

Recently bought a 2013 NV2500 high roof.  One nagging issue is the left sideview mirror (top one) has a lot of vibration - to the point it's very distracting.  Is it possible (and how) to tighten the inside housing?  Or should I look at replacing the entire mirror?

Thank you.

Is it the mirror or housing that is loose? There is an older post where they bought the lower mirror and snapped it back in place. Look for that post and you may find the source. Another post involved a loose housing. Outcome unknown.

Replacing the entire mirror will cost you about $450 for the tow mirror. Contact a dealer.

Thanks for the feedback.  I will be checking it tonight to see what piece is loose.  I am also finding complete side mirrors on ebay for about $150 from wrecked vehicles, so that maybe an option as well.

I have a 2015 hightop. I bought it new in January 16. When I went in for my 1st oil change I told them that the passenger side mirror had a vibration that was driving me crazy and asked if they could just tighten it up, when the oil change was done they told me they ordered a new one and will call when it comes in. They never called so I called them, they said it was there and if I wanted I could wait until the next time I go in for oil change, it is so much better now.

Any salvage places near you where you can check it before you buy? If not, $150 sounds good.

I checked the mirror while driving and most of the vibration is coming from behind the glass itself, and some from the entire housing.  I don't know what's involved in tightening the assembly behind the glass.  It maybe easier in the long run to replace the entire mirror.
