Sitting in the library downloading an IOS update; we live on a third world cul-de-sac. Looking at the current Motor Trend suv-truck edition, and low and behold, NVs are included under commercial vehicles. No major changes for 2019. The 5 year “retained” value is 53% for NV 1500/2500/3500 and 44% for NV 200. 53% tops every other van. Only the MB Metris ($27-35k) 46% beats the NV 200 ($23k). Tied with the Transit.

For the performance minded, the larger NVs go 0-60 in 7.5-11 seconds. Takes 10.1 seconds for the NV 200.

Radin2son, I'm trying to decide on a new 2018 NV 3500 cargo or to wait on the release of the 2019.  I'm having a difficult time finding out what, if any, changes will be on the 2019.  I've heard not many, maybe a larger nav screen.  Any new intel you can provide?  Thanks

My 2013 NV 2500 Cargo HD standard roof got rear ended late Sept 2018.  Waited 3 weeks for an appointment to repair it....and 4 weeks later, they told me it was totaled!   back bumper, back door, rear side panel and rear panel all had to be replaced...and Nissan's protocol for fixing, is to cut the entire roof off to fix it.  Totally bummed!  only 42,000 miles.

Now I am looking for a new van.  Im looking for a silver 2500 standard roof with chrome, navigation, basically option I can get.....but I'm only finding white.   Mine also had rear and side (sliding door0 windows...which it appears is hard to find.

I don't see the 2019's coming out yet.   Id like to get a good deal and would rather get a 2018, but I'd like to have all the options and something other than white.   Any idea on when they come out?   I've been without a van since early November.

Must have been quite the hit. Could another body shop have avoided the craniotomy? Would insurance have approved fixing the bumper, rear doors, and rear panels? Someone will most likely buy this with a salvage title.

Good luck on finding a ‘18 NV in any other color.

You could try to preorder a silver standard roof ‘19 with rear door windows and V8, if you want chrome. Probably increase the wait time.

NissanNews.com has announced 2019 NV cargo and to a lesser degree NVPs. Currently available now at “select” commercial dealerships nationwide (440 commercial dealers).

Easier to google 2019 NV pricing.

i was told yesterday, by my local dealer, that there were only 23 new 2019's released.  But not what I wanted.   And they can't order them yet.

Can anyone talk to the differences, advantages, disadvantages between V6 and V8?      I am not pulling a trailer...just occasional load of mulch...but I do load the van up with pottery/artwork that can be heavy.   My 2500 V6 was plenty powerful enough for me and handles well in there snow.   Any thoughts on  if i would see, feel any big difference in drive from one to another?    From reading other forums, it looks like I might get about 4MPG (on average) less.

It seems like the NV2500 SL's I find are mostly V8's

One other thing i noticed yesterday on Nissan website is and incentive from "Nissan Business Service Dealers" on new  NV's for commercial use.   $1000 uplift   OR 5 yr or 100,000 mile free maintenance service (oil change tire rotations and 30 point inspections)

My dealer didn't even know about this....When I brought it to their attention he said WOW.   Is this new?

Does anyone know a way to find out what dealers are Business Service Dealers?   The link on Nissans website to find those dealers does not go anywhere when clicked.    West Michigan in Particular.

Thanks for all your input....Im getting antsy to get another NV, since its been 3 months without.

Go to Nissan’s web page an scroll down to Site Map and Shopping tools and click on All Nissan Dealers and it will bring up a list of states. Pick a state, dealership and click on “learn more” to get to inventory and NVs if they are a commercial dealership. Tedious...

Our NV 2500 V8 averages 15.4 mpg over the course of a trip no matter how we drive it. Some fillups show 12 and others 16+ mpg. You probably should go with the V6 if you average 15+ mpg in mixed driving. If not, go with the V8. You also may want to consider the 1500 with the V6 being the only engine option.

Tim Dahle Nissan in Salt Lake City has 27 2018 NV cargo vans, all white. They have a 2019 NVP in stock for $42,245 ($44,060 MSRP) internet price. Of course it is white. No 4x4 NVs (Titan parts) in stock, but they will ship NV 4x4 conversions.

Thanks. The link went through today when I tried it....so I found the business service centers.

Now I need to ask if I buy one out of state

Is the free maintenance incentive transferable to another dealer, who is also s service center.

i Ended up paying the salvage price to insurance company and taking a check for the rest. Then reselling it to someone for a little more, who could repair it / somewhat and live with a back side panel that had accordianed a little. He was happy. I will be,once I find a new one:)

Was told there had been some lawsuit on a repair that had not been done a certain way, so now they are running scared to follow Nissans protocol for repairs. In this case cutting the entire roof off.

I asked about taking it somewhere else....insurance company said no, they had already marked van as salvage title.

You will have to read the fine print to see if it is tied to the selling dealership. If not clear, call Nissan commercial customer service. Print out what is online and take notes if you call. They should keep a record of your call.

Good luck.

I purchased the van through my LLC. I took the free maintenance service 5yrs/100,000 miles. ( instead of upfit, as I don’t need that)

They said they will mail me a card and info I can use to get it serviced.

My parents bought a Ford Super Duty pickup in 2015 and it included not free but very reasonable oil changes. And I was amazed it was actually synthetic Motorcraft (Fords brand, not sure who the actual supplier is) oil instead of cheaper conventional diesel oil.

Any idea what oil Nissan includes in your oil changes?

I know that the local “buy it” lifetime maintenance doesn’t include synthetic oil in the promo. It also limits the amount of oil based on the typical car. In practice, there is no limit. I once got a free oil change because they assumed I had lifetime maintenance, then insisted I had it when I tried to pay. Weird things happen at dealers.

I would just tell them to put in synthetic and see what happens...

Double post.

As an aside, I no longer use the dealer for service. They just don’t know you or your vehicle. Beyond getting service promos and occasional reminders, use of computer records is very limited.

But a new NV with free routine maintenance at a nearby local dealer makes sense. Also makes sense if any warranty issues come up.
