  1. I have seen several roof top tent setups.  I'm building a small enclosed 4'x7' trailer (think teardrop but rectangle) to sleep in and carry kayaks on top.  Top of the loaded kayaks will be just below my roof line and the trailer width is one foot narrower than my Jeep.

I'd prefer to not have the weight of a RTT always on the Jeep especially so high up.  Sold the toterhome and trailer.

  2. Hello NV Friends,  I hope everyone is surviving the winter.  Now that I have a Jeep we haven't had a single snow storm this winter.  I spent 10 days exploring the northern Georgia mountains a few weeks back.  Good times but I miss the comfort of a NV. Back to tent camping for now.

    Take care, Kevin

  3. If I order 2 lights; do I need to also order the mounting brackets and screws separately?

If you are not trying to match an existing factory dome light, then I'd suggest aftermarket LED Dome lights.

I installed this and liked having the option of the less intense red led.

  4.  A younger man from Portland, OR bought it.  He races in motocross and will haul his bike and use it as living area during the event.  The 4x4 will be perfect for him.  Muddy roads and fields but not hard off road.  The way the numbers worked out he has a Quigley NV with 19,500 miles for the cost of a same year non Quigley NV.  He is a very nice guy and I'm happy he got a good deal.

  5. Hello Edgar,

Are you still out there?  When I checked your profile and saw you are still visiting this site, I went ahead and sent you a PM.  I hope I wasn't to forward with my offer.  I was trying to offer you a smoking hot deal.  If you weren't interested in my van and mistakenly said you'd be on a plane, I understand completely.  Everyone has been there and done that.  Take care, Kevin

  6. Just quick example of above:

We went on a voyage on the old US-80 a few years back. We set the cruise control at 25mph and it took 5 days to drive the 400 miles from Phoenix to San Diego.

I remember that!  I was stuck behind you the whole way.

  7. Sounds like a nice project!  Any reason you are doing Quigley after the fact vs. getting it installed prior to delivery?  I thought it got full warranty coverage if new and 12 months if installed on used.  Also any reason to pick them over Advanced 4x4?  I thought Advanced had hi/lo range.

That bumper is beefy!  You'll need those lights if you live in a low light area.  If you havent noticed our H13 lights are horrible!  I'm still searching for an ideal high beam setup.  5 Hella's would definitely do it!

There is a Nissan NV converted to 4x4 by advanced called Kodiak.

Just a clip from that build:

"...I just got the van back last week from local fabricator ( Green Tree Fab) http://www.greentreefab.com

Had a bunch of issues with 4x4 system from original install at advanced 4x4, I should have heeded the warning from threads on the portal (can go into that another time).  The crew at green tree dropped the front diff down an couple inches so axle angle was not so extreme (was binding really bad) also installed some Kore high angle inner cv joints, Installed custom length rcv axle shafts, dropped the transfer case, now in 4wd there is no more howling or binding, all is silky smooth and quiet, works amazing!!..."
