  1. I'm re-financing my 2014 NV 2500 S and one of the questions that's coming up on value are if is has "14K – 16k lb Front axle or 16k+ lb Front Axle/Susp" I do have the tow package, and the V8, if that helps, but I can't find anywhere where it lists the front end specs. Thanks in advance.
  2. I have an appointment again next week. They have a guy that's supposed to be an expert on the system, but he's out until next week. I'll post if we figure it out. I like your suggestion of swapping cards. The issue is the reboot is random, so it may take a few days to know if fixed.
  3. The card doesn't seem to have a date, but it does seem to be the latest based on pictures of 2018 cards. It seems they dropped the date for 2018.
  4. Just an update, I found a Technical Service Bulletin for 2016/2017 that addresses this, but no 2018 TSB. The 2016/2017 bulletin requires a dealer online USB stick, which I don't think applies to 2018 as there is no place to plug a USB stick in... at least not visibly. :( Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi everyone, Added a 2018 NV200 a few months ago and LOVE it !! I guess now I have a fleet !!! NV2500, NV200 for the biz and I drive a 350z and the other half has an Armada. Anyway, my Nav/Audio system keeps trying to "update". This is RANDOM!! and annoying. I can be sitting not doing anything, I can be driving, happens every couple or three days, but honestly, who knows what's happening when I'm not looking because the vehicle does NOT need to be running. Basically what happens is I get the System Initialization screen, then it goes to Status: Update Failed. Insert media, System is shutting down. Copying 0/100. After this, there will be a 60 second countdown. and it will reboot. It will do this I believe 3 times before the system becomes useable. This takes 30 to 45 minutes. I have been to the dealer once and they "updated" the system. I did notice some road changes on the way home, so they did indeed at least update the MAP. I will post a screen shot if I can of what it looks like. Any ideas ?????
  6. Does anyone know of a source for the push-in Zip-Ties that hold the wiring harness in place throughout the cargo area? I'm installing a backup camera and want to run the wires in the existing routing harness to keep things neat as it's all open, but I can't seem to find a source for the zip ties used. They are really nice, have round flanges, and I really want to replace with same. I checked with a local dealer and he couldn't figure out a source either, but they are included with a replacement harness :( NAPA comes close, but not really. Thanks in advance. Miles
  7. Thanks JT. Definitely coming from fuse block is a better idea. Used to working on older cars and boats where you can somewhat grab power from anywhere, but as a warning to others... where there is a computer involved, even tapping into a map light could throw a sensor of some sort off and as Jacob mentions, that makes a mess of the Warranty. There's usually a spare for a connector. We do have a 2014. And as it's a cargo van, we're probably going to run the camera any time the truck is running so we effectively have a "rear-view mirror" . Also, for those who will DIY this. If you are like us without a factory mirror already, I went to a local used car parts/salvage store. The 2nd mirror I tried was the exact match and only around $10.00. Much better than paying $70+ for a mirror whose only purpose is to have a place to hang the monitor.
  8. I just purchased the backup camera that Jacob has talked about. Does anyone have any video's posted of an install? If not I may just go ahead and do one. If you're on the East Coast then I'm sure a trip to Jacob and you'll be all set, but I'm about 2000 miles from him and I'm sure others are as well. Also, if you are out of range of Cap Nissan and doing the install yourself, you might check out Amazon which has the same kit for a few less pennies. Jacob, you willing to share any tips'n tricks? Seems like a pretty straight forward install. I'm thinking for running a channel down to the mirror for the wires from the overhead bin. Also, speaking of overhead bin.. was wondering if I could avoid pulling the whole bin down, or was there an easier way to get the wiring up there. I figure the map lights will provide me a 12v source and probably enough room to tuck the receiver up there too somewhere, but I haven't really layed out a plan yet. Miles
  9. Hi, Just checking in. It's been a couple of months and not quite 3000 miles, all happy. Still learning the best way to pack. Was really cool to find that milk crates fit on the shelves. We've had some vandalism which sucks, but I'm sure it will get more dings along the way. FWIW the Nissan touch-up paint for white, isn't an exact match... close, but not a match. We also figured out that it really does fit into our garage.... just barely with only about 2" clearance, but 2" is 2". Haven't picked up the backup camera yet, but will likely next month. Finally got the logo on the sides today and will post a pic. The above referenced "wrap" was just in reference to the roof to protect from tree scratches. I'll try to post a pic now that it's not naked anymore.
  10. Ok, so I'm trying to edit my location and such in the profile and eventhough I'm saving... I'm not saving :(
  11. I'll go fill out my profile, sorry.. Just been busy. We are in the great Pacific Northwest. About an hour north of Seattle. I added those 3" dia round stick-on mirrors to the inside of the lower mirrors and what a difference. Can really see everything now. We get into a lot of places where probably anything bigger than a bicycle shouldn't go. My other half had to take it to a venue in the woods Thursday evening... and she didn't even want to look at the top of the Van. Mind you I have a 350z and was getting brushed by branches in that place. Anyway, to our surprise Nissan must have one helluvha coat of paint on the top as I couldn't find a single scratch. However, just based on that experience, I am going to wrap the top portion. We're only getting banners for the sides to fit in the "indent" on the sides, but from there up, I'm gonna put a 3M wrap around the top, front and roof.
  12. Hello Everyone, Picked up our 2014 NV2500 Friday and took it on it's first job Saturday. So far, I'm loving the potential. It came with shelves, some of which may go, and just enough upgrades in the creature comforts area, but not "overdone." I will need to get the backup camera that's discussed on here as I have drivers that will need it. However, overall I found it very easy to drive. The hardest thing to get used to is that from the drivers seat, it "looks" larger than it is. I was going down a narrow road and while I kept "feeling" like I was wide, especially when I'd meet an oncoming vehicle, it could clearly see in the lower mirrors I was well within my lane. Same for backing up, and feeling I'm too close just to find out I still have a couple of yards to go. Same when parking nose in, thinking "i'm there" and it turns out... I actually have a couple more feet. Something else of note is the turning radius which is quite impressive. Had to pull a couple of U-Turns that when I started was thinking would be K turns, but it fit... We ended up with the NV2500 because we had a 16' cube van with a lift that I don't think we ever loaded fully, which is just plain dangerous. We also had an AstroVan that (aside from being on its last legs) was only really big enough for small deliveries and small events. The NV2500 with it's high-roof, means we can most always "fill" the space by either putting the Cambros (hot boxes) on the floor, or stacking them depending on what else we have to bring. For the most part, I don't have to "strap" stuff in. I'm great at packing and nothing like having a big square space to load and lock everything in on it's own. Oh yeah, forgot the most important aspect for me. I'm 6'4", and I can stand up in the Cargo Area !!!!! I couldn't do that in the 16' box truck !!!! That also means standing up 6' tables. The only addition so far is the Fire Extinguisher and a piece of particle board on the floor and edge guards on the doors.
