I actually took some videos of the process when I did it, since the instructions don't come with the parts, and the PDFs Nissan provides online are difficult find, and difficult to read. Never got around to compiling them into a YouTube how-to though. As Wollip said, drilling the hood is probably the scariest part of it, since that's obviously the greatest chance of damaging your vehicle during the process. I do have a few tips I can offer: Keep some microfiber towels handy when doing the installation. There are times when the hood protector and/or brackets can come in contact with your paint, so you want something sitting on your hood to protect it. And...Mask off potential areas of abrasive paint contact with masking tape (to avoid scratches)The template sheet that came with my hood protector was the wrong scale. It looked like it went through a copy machine one too many times, so it was actually smaller than reality. I had to scale mine up using a copier, and check the measurements as I adjusted the scale.The kit doesn't come with the "bitumen wax" recommended for the coating the mounting holes drilled under the hood, and it costs ~$25 (search Google for "Nissan Bitumen Wax"). I ended up using some black silicone to try to protect the holes I drilled from rust. Not recommending it, just saying that's what I used.If I ever get around to compiling those videos onto YouTube, I'll post a link here. Also, followup on my peeling foam tape issue: I used some LocTite gel on the side of the foam that came apart, re-adhering the peeled-off paint to the metal. It's holding up OK, but it has continued to pull away some. I will probably give it another treatment before winter comes.

Jerry: Good to hear that it wasn't just me that had this issue. I had a road trip (through a very buggy stretch in the midwest) that came up before I could address the issue as I originally intended (repainting the bracket, and using new foam adhesive). I ended up using LocTite on the paint that had peeled off, and re-adhered it to the bracket. So far it's holding well enough. I see the double-sided foam tape peeling away from the hood slightly at the corners, but it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse in the past couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.

Hi All, We're new NV owners (and loving it), and I recently purchased the OEM hood protector (999D5HX000) from a dealer online, and installed it myself. Installation went pretty smoothly, however I did notice that the plexi guard had a tendency to pull away from the hood near the ends, right where the stick-on mounts are placed on the exterior of the hood. Normally this probably wouldn't be an issue, however we've been parking the black beast outside, south facing, until we get our 8' garage door installed. The south-facing heat probably caused the adhesive to loosen, and the mounts were peeling off the hood. Not a big deal, as I would just keep pressing them on each day until they stayed stuck. However after about a week, I noticed that the adhesive on one of the brackets peeled away from the bracket, staying stuck to the hood. Upon further inspection, I realized the paint had actually peeled away from the bracket (thankfully not from the hood!). My question is, has anyone else had issues with the exterior brackets not staying in place on the hood protector? ...and if so, any issues with the paint itself on the bracket? Any solutions? I'm going to send the dealer I bought it from a message about this to see if they can just send me a replacement bracket. However if they can't/won't, I'll probably have to take the bracket and adhesive off, repaint it, and find an appropriate foam mounting tape to use.
