  3. Sold it 12 hours after listing at asking price. We were probably asking too little, but I just was tired of dealing with it. I think the pandemic has made Van's more popular. The prices on conversiontrader.com are very high. All those evictions, maybe? Ted
  4. We have a cargo net that holds bulky, lightweight stuff. We can use the space with little effort it took to put it up. Ted
  5. We put it back on the market after family sale fell through. We've lowered the price to $26K. Ted
  6. I'm in Southern New Mexico, forgot to mention that
  7. I removed my NV's center console when I installed the swivel. It will need to go as I'm tired of shuffling it around in storage units. First person to pick it up gets it. PM me or email me at aztedb@gmail.com Thanks
  8. This is DesertTed (Hub's other half), but I'm having difficulty signing in: I finally got everything together and have the van listed on conversiontrader.com and vandweller marketplace reddit for $33K The link for imgur is: 2016 Nissan NV3500 SL camper conversion please contact AZTEDB@GMAIL.COMhttps://imgur.com/gallery/vDIJdPx

  10. Nope, won't work. That's why I put the removable wood box there. Wife (NomadTed) would have liked a swivel, but she won't give up the center console. One or the other. My Nissan console is sitting in a storage warehouse. I didn't realize how big that sucker was until I pulled it from the van.
  11. I forgot to include this detailed, voluminous instruction sheet.
  12. Hello all, So my swivel is finally installed! It works great, and my wife is thrilled with the additional seat height for sightseeing. As some of you may be aware, there is minimal amount of information on installing the swivels-r-us swivel for the NV vans (see photo of instructions). Even after installing the swivel, I looked at the instructions supplied by swivels-r-us, and they are still confusing to me. Fortunately for me I got a response from Cojo (another member) about my original question as to the correct measurements of the swivel. He confirmed that the correct size of the swivel is 17 1/2" X 18". Looking at how to remove the seat I was not comfortable, it is not obvious, and I am a bit spacially impaired. My wife was correct in her assumption, but I really wanted to hear it from someone who had actually removed the seat (she's really good at "Nanny-Nanny Boo-Boo" however!) Cojo sent me the following: "I found that removing the whole seat assembly was a big help, so you've got that under control. Next, you want to take a close look at the seat and take note that there is the seat itself, the fore/aft slides and the seat base. The slides seem to be permanently attached to the seat base. Essentially, you want to insert the swivel between the seat and the slides. I recall there are 4 bolts/nuts holding the slides to the seat (or maybe there are 8 nuts...). And they're not really 'bolts', they're more like studs that are permanently mounted to the slides and then nuts are used to fasten the seat. Oh, and there is a piece of plastic trim along the right side of the assembly that partially covers the bolts. The trim 'pops' off with careful persuasion and get you easier access. From there, this is approximately what I did: 1)Remove the nuts & seat from the slides/base. 2)Bolt swivel to seat with included hardware. I was a bit concerned about only 4 bolts, so added another pair to the rear slots/holes. Leave hardware slightly loose for now. 3)Bolt swivel to studs on slides/seat base. 4)Reinstall seat/swivel/seat base back into van. 5)Monkey around with the fore/aft position of the seat/swivel/base assembly so that you can rotate the seat. There was a bit of interference with the swivel frame and the fore/aft slide actuator lever. I used the slots to find a position where the interference was minimized. At some point, I may go back and 'dremel' the swivel frame a bit to get more clearance. 6)Tighten all of the hardware. 7)Reinstall plastic trim cover on side of seat. 8)Last, don't forget to reconnect the airbag sensor wire connector. I routed the wire up through the center of the swivel. Note that swiveling the seat takes a bit of work in that the door needs to be open a bit and there may need to be some fore/aft adjustment to get clearance from the dash." The above instructions are spot on! Just a couple of comments. There are eight nuts that have to be removed. I switched steps two and three above and it worked as well. The plastic trim you need to remove on the right has several plastic clips that need to pop out. First remove the plastic handle used to retract the passenger seat, the plastic cover can be popped out with a screwdriver, and one screw holds it on. I wanted something to replace the console, so I put in a removable pine box about eight inches tall. It is low enough and strong enough to step on while sitting in the driver's seat, if I'm too lazy to step over it. I just pick it up and move it when I swivel the seat. Hope this helps someone's frustration level. Steve
  13. Hello all, I am having difficulty with the passenger seat swivel from swivels-r-us. Please tell me I am not crazy. I have a 2017 NV2500 high top. The swivel I received measures 17 1/2" X 18". I measured the bolt distances for the passenger seat, 16 7/8" X 22 9/16". I have been going around and around with swivels-r-us via email, and they insist I have the correct swivel, and that I don't know what I'm doing. Try as I might, there are no measurements of any of the swivels online. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know what dimensions the swivel should be? Thank you, Steve
  14. Hello all, Looking forward, I first want to wish everyone a healthy and happy new year. I think I have posted somewhere once or twice in the forum, but can't recall. Most of you probably are familiar with my wife, DesertTed, also known as SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed). I will be posting a build thread of a second NV. My wife's thread is about an NV3500 High Top, and mine is an NV2500 High Top. After a lengthy time building out the 3500 and getting her ready for the road, and our initial voyage, it was decided that TWO vehicles would be best for our marriage. We have different traveling styles and interests, and sometimes will be traveling together, other times not. I picked up my NV2500 from Autonation Nissan Chandler on 8/8/17. Terry Rogers made the transaction pleasant, as he did the purchase of our 2016 NV3500. If you are looking to buy a new NV I would recommend Terry and his dealership to anyone. We live in Tucson but have our service done in Chandler. I am actually fairly far along with my build, but as we were preparing our house for sale, (which sold two weeks ago, Yeah!!!) writing about the build was not a priority. In fact, writing for me is difficult, like a root canal. As DesertTed and I are now houseless, and hence offically homeless, I am going to try to write a bit more. Maybe the difficulty and pain will diminish with time? So the first thing I want to mention that might be helpful to some on the board is to get the software update on the 2017 transmission. Wife and I both agree it is a signiicant improvement! It is now a much smoother ride. As I am not a writer I will stop now and leave you to enjoy your day, or night. 15. Outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail! Your built is just incredible Compared to the build that my wife and I did, ours' looks like tinker-toys. As soon as the house is sold, we'll be getting another high top-this time for me. My build will be completely different, but I guarantee it won't look as good as yours does!
  16. Hi Chris, I found these on Amazon, they're available in up to 60"long. I haven't installed them yet, but they look mighty tough. I'll let you know how they work, but I surmise that they'll do the job. Drawer Slide, Full Extension, 48 in., Heavy Duty, 500 lb. Capacity, Zinc by Hettich The Hettich KA3320 48" drawer slides are a heavy duty, telescoping, precision, full extension drawer slides for high loads, up to 500 lb. capacity, with cushioned in and out stops. Chromated steel. Ball bearing spacers are made of noise-absorbing plastic with hardened steel ball bearings. The runner and ball race form a single non-detachable unit. Smooth action and high side stability through precision slide. The 4 foot drawer runner is not removable. You will need to unscrew the drawer fronm the runner to remove the drawer box. The reason for this is with 4 feet of travel to its fully extended 8 foot length, the weight of the loaded drawer acheives a great deal of momentum and must coome to an abrupt stop. A lever release would need to be massive and would be expensive and hard to fit into the slide mechanism. This 48" slide has a 3/4" Installation Width and a 3" Height. The tested dynamic weight capacity is 280 lbs. @ 10,000 Cycles and 183 lbs. @ 75,000 cycles. The cabinet member requires #10 Flat head countersunk screw. The drawer member requires #10 pan head screw. Screw length will vary depending on application. Use all screw holes to acheive the full load rating. PRICE IS PER PAIR. Screws not included.
