Low profile unit. Looks good.

The "loo"? Englishman? I think thats what they call the bathroom over there. But no, its not a low profile, its a Coleman Mach 1. For reference, the dome up there is a Winegard pathway satellite dome, which are 14 inches tall and the ac unit is almost as tall. I almost wish I would have gone with a polar cub, which is a low profile, but those are 9200 btw and the one I have is 11,000 btu while having almost the same power usage and being cheaper than the polar cub, but all in all im pretty satisfied with it. Its going to cool the van down in no time.

Well guys, as promised here are a few pics of my air conditioner installed...and by the way, my dump went fantastic. I had mostly gas station hot dogs the entire day, so it was a nasty one, but I survived. Glad to see you guys care....

Original owner? If not, doesn't really matter. That is a lot of miles. Since you don't mention any problems, that is a lot of trouble free miles. You may have the most miles of anyone on this forum.

 

What do you use your van for?

No, not the original owner. Im the third owner, but its been used for over the road expedite freight hauling from day one. I would estimate %95 of the miles are all highway. Its been very well taken care of. Always synthetic oil changes and changed religiously.The Sprinter and now Transits and Promasters are the more popular vans for what I do, but the other guys ive talked to with the same van are saying around 400-500,000 is the usual mark for a major break down, if taken care of.

I have 280,000 miles on my 2012 nv2500 and I would say I average about 15-16. My van, hauling no freight, weighs around 7,000 pounds. Best gas milage ive seen is about 19...according to the computer. v6 engine.

Well I got it done, didnt do it myself though. But pretty much just the same as a Sprinter or any other van. Ill post some pics tomorrow. Now if youll excuse me I have a giant turd to pinch out of my ass.

Im wanting to install an rv style rooftop air conditioner on my NV2500 high top. Ive seen plenty of these on Sprinters, Transits and Promasters, but never on a Nissan. Then again, I dont see as many NIssan campers as I do the other 3. I cant see why I wouldnt be able to install one, but ive just never seen it so it makes me wonder. Anyone have an opinion on this?

Because its a 7 hour drive, lol. I don't feel like a 14 hour round trip if its something I can fix easily. Im thinking about using some high temp silicone to seal it up from the bottom.

So I just had an espar heater installed in my nv2500. I have a wood floor over the metal floor, and the guy who installed it didn't cut a chunk of the wood floor out, he mounted the espar to the wood floor. I am assuming its ok to be mounted to wood like that. Problem is, he sealed the unit to the wood floor, not the metal van floor, so water can still get in, underneath the wood. Does anyone have a suggestion to a type of material I should use to seal it up and the best way to do it? Thanks.
