  1. I had to replace the transmission pan on my 2013 2500 recently. The dipstick is in the engine compartment but kinda hard to reach. There is a bolt holding the top of it down. I'll try to attach a picture later

    Lug nut issues

I had the same problem recently. I do agree that they swell, could even see the bulge on some of mine. In the end I used a lug nut remover to twist some off. Had to replace 6 on one wheel so far.
  3. It has just over 100 thousand on it. Also I purchased it in the Cleveland area about a year ago.
  4. I figure that this may possibly be useful info for some. A little bit ago I noticed some oil underneath my van. I had a crack in my oil pan and planned on patching it. Upon further inspection I saw the pan was severely rusted, especially around the edges. I ended up replacing it instead and have had no problems since. In total it was around a $60 job.
  5. Update: Ended up doing it myself. Not too hard as long as you have the right tools. Lower ball joint costs around $50.
  6. Iv'e just been told by my mechanic that I need a new front right ball joint on my 2013 2500. Anyone have any experience with replacing one?
  7. I have a 24'' one mounted behind the grill in the bumper.
  8. I'm planning on posting some remodeling updates and a general review on my conversion in the spring. Currently I'm in an apartment for a few months as the weather has gotten too cold for the area I'm in.
  9. If it's what I think your talking about, I believe its a vent.
  10. I'm making a curtain for behind the seats for privacy and dark during the night. I'm also planning on sorting out some form of window covers to help keep the sun out (and heat in if they are insulated). I am planning on doing a few fold away tables. Some for the kitchen and some for the bike maintenance station in the back.
  11. Update from this weekend. Did some more work on storage and "kitchen" area. Added some door panels. Hoping to finish the the bed next week and make a curtain for the front.
  12. I haven't driven enough to notice a difference. I'll update once I have. I painted it myself. I used truck bed liner and so far is seems good. Much more durable than the stock paint.
  13. Small Update: Front bumper repainted and light bar installed. (not the best pictures) Not pictured is Titan airbox mod. Seems good so far.
  14. With the shelves I plan on storing containers inside (milk crate/wooden crate) that hold other smaller things. There won't be doors, just a bungee cord or similar stretchy material to hold it in place.
  15. Yes, the panel will most likely be stored on top of the rest of the bed. (under the mattress) I can fit 2 bikes on the right-hand side with the front wheels off. The area will be closed in from the rest of the van and have waterproof floor and walls for wet/muddy bikes. Also have started on a "kitchen" unit that will have shelving for food and a top to put a stove on. Unfortunately I have to start up school again but I'll still do some work when I can and post updates.
  16. Today's doing: Bed and other wheel well cover built. Bed has a section that is removable to make it into a couch and allow for more floor space.
  17. I have traveled out West before so I understand the importance of water storage. I am planning to use a few large plastic jugs to hold adequate water.
  18. Today's additions: Paneled the walls Start of wheel well cover/staroge
  19. My build timeline is this week. I'm on spring break so I figured I could get it at least 80% of the way done.
  20. I may use some linseed oil on the ceiling. Haven't decided yet, the natural look isn't bad. I'll be going full time dirtbag for a while. Working here and there while traveling.
  21. Today's work. Ceiling finished and start of wall insulation.
  22. @Radin2son I'll post an update on road noise after I try with the sunroof open. I may look into extending the duct work. i hadn't thought of that before. I'm 6' 4'' so I definitely need the height to stand. If I ever add supports I'll post pics. I'm going to do the garage/platform thing for the bed. I don't feel comfortable leaving my bikes outside the van. Plus it looks a little more "stealthy".
  23. Ceiling insulation and the start of paneling.
  24. @Radin2son I don't plan on driving with the sunroof open. It's more for light and ventilation when parked. I will try though just to see what its like. @mahu As far as I see the structure wasn't effected much. It's a little weaker if you were to walk around the sunroof but I don't plan on doing so. As far as sealant I used Lexel. I've used it in the past and its worked well. If it goes bad I can always replace it.
