  1. Could be that it's summer or perhaps the Community experience is a lot richer on the Facebook forums NV owners, NV family and I think there's one more. Much easier to post photos and Links at least from a mobile device. Just my two cents, hope everybody's doing well and having a good summer kids go back to school now; travel well everyone Labor Day is coming soon

  2. Miss my skid plate saved us rebar going through the fuel tank on my Expedition definitely would like to get one after being under the NV noticing there's no protection under there at all

You are in the land of off road fabricators. If you make one, you might find yourself making them for other NV owners.

You may want to check the Expedition Portal forum (I think I got that right) to see if any NV owners have posted this. 4x4 NV owners tend to migrate there, never to return.

  3. Strange but it happened to me on the driver side also. Not on an adventure but at the carwash. the guides that direct your tires to go down the track rubbed the brackets on the driver's side step. I got them straight again and now I know what to watch out for.

Looks great. Enjoy! I have those same running boards. Just beware they lower ground clearance quite a bit. I was worried when I installed them and I did bottom out hard last week going down a rutted access road. Bent both brackets on the driver's side but I pounded them back straight.

  4. I had a similar experience and after the paint peeled off the brackets used gorilla two-sided heavy duty foam tape that will hold up to 30 lb it hasn't come off yet but it is starting to slowly peel away. What I'll do now is gently warm up the plastic material and flex it a little bit to relieve some of that pressure.

  5. Stealership, nice one Bamps.

First-aid-kit,basic tool kit basic roadside emergency kit with flares tire inflator water about it

Its an ac delco 12ton I believe i picked it up at O'Reily (my van didnt come with one, I think the stealership jacked it). I forgot to mention that i also carry a shovel and traction mats (i live way out and this van is 2wd)

  6. We had Beastie in Florida for spring break a few weeks ago 85° Sunny with a black van I was concerned but we were able to keep it cool and I've got five kids and they have a lot of hot breath so no fogging issues make sure you're not on recirculate and everything's fine for mine so far

  7. Good morning I followed the modification manual to pull out the headliner and then mounted the DVD players to the cross-members through the center you can't put them on the side like that one picture shows with the guy with the four because they maybe too close to the side airbag curtain. I'll upload pictures and I don't have any video because I did it before spring break, I'll remember to shoot some video when I do the third one. The tricky part is with the dome lights there's a retaining ring that snaps on from the back and if you don't remove the whole headliner it's very difficult to get your arm in there and snap it back on.

if there was a way to post pictures right from your phone to these Forum posts that be sweet but I haven't found out how to do that I've uploaded everything to the cloud and I'll have to do it from my PC

  8. Beastie still searches at 1200 to 1500 RPMs just finished a 2500 mile round-trip spring break to Florida and got a Max of 13.8 miles per gallon taking it into the dealer Friday for an oil change and for them to put on what appears to be a gear shift lever guide, it's white nylon with notches on it and that's a little unnerving. Other than that I couldn't be happier with the NV comparing it to a 2009 Ford Expedition EL Limited that I traded in this is a great upgrade for us

  9. Welcome aboard D and congratulations I've had our 2017 3500 NVP SL HD for a few months now and I added the Luverne running boards that ASD dad has I agree they are Rock Solid I got the aluminum black. With five kids it is easier for them to get in and out plus my wife likes it as well.

You should also consider adding overhead entertainment I've got two boss 10.1" DVD systems in place I'm going to add a third. The first two are hooked in Tandem and play through the stereo it's a pretty sweet setup we're also going to use our Roku on it with Wi-Fi.

Other additions for us included a roof rack that I can put my Sears x-cargo on as well as a Thule hitch mounted cargo holder, side molding and a front hood protector

  10. Getting ready for a dry run today before spring break and also had the same issue with no power to the brake lights or my other lights on the 7-pin harness so thanks for everybody for your posts, I'm going to test this out tonight and see what my diagnosis is. Fortunately I won't have to cancel a camping trip as I was only putting my Thule hitch mounted Cargo Carrier on the back.

  11. I have not but I am guessing that panel would pop off like all the others. Get the panel tool and wedge it in the seam and work your way around to see if it pops. If you dont want to buy the tools (they are dirt cheap) your next best option would be a plastic putty knife or scraper. The panel tools have a nice sharp edge to really wedge into those gaps though, plus their somewhat strong and wont just bend.

Just read where your button actually went through. Stick your finger in the hole and try gently pulling out. See if you can get the tip of your finger up along the edge and just pull. It will certainly help if it doesnt pop off that way if you do use the panel tool. You can apply outward pressure while prying the seam open.

When I took off the kick panel on the drivers side I noticed there's a screw on my 2017 holding the gray panel that houses the seat heater buttons on the left. There's probably a screw at the right hand side by the glove compartment door. If you take those out it may pop off but you might have to remove the floor console to remove it, at least it's in the way on mine.

  12. I want to preface this by saying I have a 2017 Nissan NV 3500 SL with navigation. I followed the directions you guys all had for taking the dash apart to get access to the radio and I think they've simplified it on the 2017 version. You no longer have to remove the screw down at the kick panel or the one with the engine hood release. You can take everything off that you need to without unscrewing anything, get the panel removal tool as ASD dad suggested and start your way from the left heater vent. Pop that off then carefully pop off the trim around the instrument cluster. Remove the two screws on the left side of the trim retaining plate around the radio pop, off the right heater vent on the right side of the radio revealing the two other radio trim screws then you pop that off to access the head unit. There were multiple purple wires going into the 18 pin connectors so I think the next way to maybe activate the reverse cam is to find the power that feeds the camera. I'll post pictures so you guys know actually took it apart.
