No biggie. Tossed it in the cup holder and figured I’d look later when I got time. A week later, the key wouldn’t turn to off position and come out. After messing with it I got the key out and went in for exploratory surgery. It looks like the little lever that interlocks the key sw with trans lever busted off... like the cast aluminum is cracked. I’m still not sure where the plastic piece came out of. My question is... will Nissan cover this under recall 13V094000? Btw this is on a ‘13 NVP 3500 HD with 66000mi

Im new to the forum so I don’t wanna start off on the wrong foot starting a “my intake is better than yours” argument, but my opinion is based on my experience as a service technician, engine lab technician, and SCCA solo2 driver. I’ve hotrodded many cars over the years and have seen firsthand how bolt on mods have a negligible (and even negative) impact on MPG as well as overall performance. Engine makers spend millions of dollars developing engines to be as fuel efficient as they reliably can be in a cost effective package. You can’t beat a stock well maintained engine in terms of mpg and overall longevity and performance. 1/2mpg gain can easily be written off to installing a clean filter, temperature swing, fuel variance. Bolt on intakes and exhausts without a tune will flow more air through an engine which will in turn inject more fuel to not run lean. With a proper tune focusing on fuel economy might yield a mpg gain but you just spent all that saved gas money on dyno time. Tinkering is fun, by all means that’s what got me started in my career, but learning along the way has really made me realize how hokey aftermarket companies are in their claims.

  7. Hello. Were a homeschooling family with five boys so hopefully this van will last a while. We recently had our fifth child so it was time to upgrade our old tired Excursion diesel. The big 3 offerings all look like spaceships and I read about too many issues and comfort level being lackluster. I liked the NV but could never find a good used passenger in my area but I kept a look out and found a low mile one in Texas. A short plane trip and a long ride home two weeks ago and now my wife and I fight over who’s driving :) I’m a diesel mechanic by trade and the openness under hood caught my attention vs the flat-front underdash setup most big vans get. Glad I found this forum... hope I can contribute a bit
  8. I’ve hit states on both borders in the 2 weeks we’ve had this van. I’m impressed how much smoother it drives than our Excursion we had. Only miss the diesel for the fuel mileage.
