New Lug Nuts Don't Hold Hubcap Tight
captaincaveman replied to captaincaveman's topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
It turns out, the hard plastic washer on the old nuts needed to be put on the new nuts, and then it worked perfectly. If anyone else is looking for lug nuts for their van, I ended up going with these, and am pretty happy with them so far. https://www.ebay.com/itm/404472791142 -
I am dealing with the swollen lug nuts issue, and purchased some new nuts off Ebay that are supposed to fit. They are the right style, how ever, the end that holds the wheel on is longer than the originals and don't hold the hub caps in place. From what I can tell, the tip of the nut is what is holding the wheel on, and the flat part is only holding the hub cover on/tight. Has anyone else had this problem? (Edit to add that the old nut shown has the chrome shell removed.)

I wanted to post this in case it helps others. My sliding door would not stay open, and since my driveway is on a slant, it was rather annoying. I did lots of searches, most coming up with threads about the door getting stuck closed (which I also had problems with). Anyway, I found one note that got me going in the right direction. The doors have a latch at the bottom front that is supposed to catch when the door is fully open. The posts I saw suggested that there might be a rock or something blocking the latch. I checked that, but it was a no. But while messing with that latch I discovered the cable to the latch was frozen/stuck. I was able to remove that cable, and with some penetrating oil and some patience I got the cable sliding smooth again. Re-installed and presto. Door stays open. Love no cost fixes.

Thanks @OpenRoad. Adjusting the latches did the trick for me!

Can I Swap the Cruise Control into Non-Cruise van?

Thanks for the reply. Well in that case it probably isn't worth the effort then. I can get a retro-fit unit for about the cost of getting the ECM programmed. -
Can I Swap the Cruise Control into Non-Cruise van?
captaincaveman posted a topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
Hi all, new owner of a 2015 NV 2500HD. My van doesn't have cruise control in it, but I was just at a "pick your part" junkyard that had a NV 2500 with cruise in it. Does anyone know if it is possible to take the cruise control stuff out of the junk van and install in my van? I'm pretty handy with wrenches, just not sure if it is doable or not.
