Hello, I realize this is an old post but I found out a way to get 400 watts out of the factory inverter while in drive. There is a green wire on the back side of the inverter switch on the dash that looses it's ground when the van is taken out of park. All you have to do is cut the wire and run the leg from the switch directly to ground and you have 400 watts available any time you originally had 150 watts available. The only downside I have experienced (albeit very minor) is that the 400W on the rocker switch stays lit up anytime the ignition is ON or ACC. The outlets however are not powered until you push the switch and both 150W and 400W are lit up. You could block the light from the led from lighting the 400W portion of the switch if it bothered you. It doesn't bother me. We now have power to run our crock pot while road tripping.
Hi again Hazel. How did you get behind that panel to get at the wire?
Thanks.

Well done!

The manual takes you through the steps. Access to an air compressor is crucial.
Any Nissan dealership can do this for you, maybe even at no charge.
Looks simple enough. Thanks.

I changed my own tires over and apparently the computer doesn't recognise the new placements.
The warning light is staying on now.
How do you reset yours?
Thanks,
Dustin

I just got some LED replacements from a local guy...I am appreciating the extra light.

I would like more light in my cargo area.
Has anyone upgraded bulbs or added more lights?
Thanks

I wouldn't think so garmin keeps everything internal but I found that they have free lifetime map updates and the Nissan one is costly to update so its just better and cheaper just to buy a external type gps. but that is just my feeling on the subject. ymmv.
OK....It is too bad that Nissan chooses to gouge on this one.

The dealership couldn't replicate the problem (in Vancouver @ 5 degrees) which isn't surprising.

No form signing here in Vancouver either. I bought some cheap chains ($150) for my snow tires and have never had to use them. Some roads in the mountains here require them.

I was touring up north last week and a couple days and it was -20 C.
The vehicle would heat up with hot air coming out of the heater and then would turn to cold air. I turned the fan off and then it would heat up again.
Anyone ever had this happen?
OrHave any theories?
I assume it is a stuck vent...
Thanks,
Dustin

My ride - 3500 HD high roof
I would appreciate any help with figuring out how much I can tow. I carry 800 pounds max in the van. The van is rated for 9500 pounds....but it seems that there are different ways to calculate the trailer weight.
Thanks,
Dustin

I have a 2014 3500. This product says its for 2016. Does anyone know the difference in mounting points or tolerances? If any...
Edit.... went to the website and it looks like they are the same. Very promising.

I am looking into adding these.
I saw them on a sprinter a couple days ago and the theory is strong. IMHO

Propane tank on rear door, and reinforcing brackets inside door. Ladder too.
Hose just drapes down ladder, connect to quick disconnect behind bumper, then regulator, Propex furnace inside keeps us warm in the winter in the desert.
I really like that ladder.
What is the brand?
Thanks,
Dustin

I bought my NV passenger in January 2016. 2015 model SL. This is what I have done: upgrade all the speakers, added running boards, covered back glass and two most rearward windows with vinyl, made "true" dual exhaust, replaced air filter with a K&N filter, removed back two rows of seats for cargo, removed warning labels on visor, added a custom vanity mirror, increased wiper size: driver-22" passenger-24", and replaced lights with HID headlights and fog lights.
Hope to have it for many years.
Joey
What HID kit did you use?
Thanks,
Dustin
edit:
got it from another post. :0)

I am having a paint issue on my 2014 high roof. Rust pin pricks that I polished out came back. According to my brother in law that is a body man....this is normal for Nissan as they use cheap steel. I don't know how to work around it at this stage....

Found these guys with a couple minutes of searching.
There are a few Titans running CNG, maybe post on Titan Talk or similar sites to ask them.
This companies website is down. Too bad.
-
Also interested in cng conversion. Please post what you find. Thanks
Will do .

PM Chris_cm as he may not see your post. If anyone knows about this he will.
Are you at the point where mpg is more important than utility? If I recall, you were working out of a station wagon or small van. Honda Element?
The utility is most important. I really like the NV... and I couldn't get all my gear in an Element (aren't they also gas pigs? )

My warranty will be up next year and I am exploring ways to improve my fuel burden....yes it's a burden.
CNG is quite a bit more cost effective. Has anyone done it?
-
They are sweet....2 grand US is like a million dollars CDN....out of range at this moment in time.
