I have a set in my garage. I'll let you know after I get them on - hopefully within the next week or so.

Considering the options for a family of 7.

Here's another vote for the NV brakes. The rotors are about 14" front and rear with huge calipers. They have a very linear, positive feel to them. We traded an Expedition EL and my wife commented on the test drive that the Nissan brakes felt better. -

We just recently bought a NVP SL for our family of 7 and we're happy with it. We also looked at the Transit and I really wanted it to work for us because of the dealer network and the 2 hour drive to the commercial Nissan dealers around us. However, the lack of legroom in the 3rd and 4th rows of the Ford was a deal breaker. I'm only 5'10" and my knees touch the seatbacks in those positions. We needed more room and that was not moving in the right direction. I don't have a solution for the height. It sure would be nice to drop it 2-3" without ruining the ride and load ratings. Plus, it would look cool. B) -
Camera Predicted Course Lines???
jaredg replied to jaredg's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I'll give an update on the issue. I called Nissan Commercial and they basically told me that they don't provide technical support directly to the consumer. They assigned a case # and directed me to the closest Nissan dealer, which is not a Commercial dealer, to have it checked out. I questioned whether they were able to work on the NVP and they said it would be no problem.. I wanted this to work because our commercial dealer is nearly 2 hours away while the non-commercial dealer is only about 45 minutes. However, I was skeptical. I made an appointment on a day when I needed to be in town anyway. Upon arrival, they told me that they don't normally work on these and weren't sure about the camera system. They did offer to gather some information and call me back later. No big deal as I was in town anyway. In the end, they think that if the predicted course lines aren't there, they can't be added. It was pretty much a waste of time as I expected. I do need to visit my original dealer for some work that they owe me. I will have them look into it before I put it to bed for good. Radin2son - You're right. The mirrors are very good. I just want to know why I don't have the feature the owner's manual spends so much time explaining. -
Ummm...Classifieds/Marketplace?

Here's another vote for a classifieds section! -
I installed THIS SET of heaters in our 2002 Honda Odyssey this past winter. They worked really well and can be trimmed for obstacles pretty easily because of the way the carbon filaments are arranged. The installation was not real difficult. It probably took me 12+ hours in total. I'm not real fast, but I'm thorough. B) The trickiest part was the occupancy sensor in the passenger seat. My guess is that may be why Jean has the light on the dash he mentioned. I found conflicting information online regarding whether the heating pad could be placed over the sensor film. In the end I cut that pad short to avoid issues with the sensor. The set I have was made by Champion Seat Systems. I called them with a question during installation on New Year's Eve afternoon and they were super helpful. I was impressed.

It would nice to get that new 5.6 engine. However, I kind of hope they go unchanged in 2017 since I just bought a 2016. :)

This picture is at the dealer. It dwarfs our old Expedition EL!

We're visiting family in KY this weekend and hauled 10 people to the Newport Aquarium. We couldn't have done that before!

Hello, We finally bought a NVP this week after looking for a long time. The original plan was to find a lightly used model after they had been out a couple of years, but used NVPs are in short supply and hold there value pretty well. Ultimately we bought a 2016 3500 SL. We have 5 kids ranging from 7-15 years old, so the extra room will definitely come in handy. Our previous vehicle was a Ford Expedition EL that served us well. The main issue was no headrests in the middle seat positions. The kids were getting big enough that we couldn't find a way to get everyone in a position with a headrest. I plan to contribute where I can. Jared

Camera Predicted Course Lines???
jaredg replied to jaredg's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Thanks guys. It appears, from looking at owner's manuals, that the predicted lines are an addition for 2016. Maybe it was a running change that our van didn't get since it was built in January, 2016. I think it should have a steering angle sensor for the stability control. Maybe this could be as simple as a software update. I plan to contact the dealer next week to find out if it can be added. I'll update when I find out more. -
Camera Predicted Course Lines???

Nothing in the instrument cluster settings menu. The manual reads like it should be in the nav radio settings menu, but it only has "guidelines", not "predictive course lines". Anyone have a 2016 with nav that can check this out? -

I haven't looked at the instrument cluster settings. I'll have to check that. -
Hello, We just bought a 2016 NVP SL this week and I have a question about the rearview monitor system. There are about 5 pages in the manual that talk about the "predicted course lines" and how to use them, turn them on/off, etc. The predicted course lines are the ones that are supposed to change as the steering wheel is turned while backing up. I only have the static lines that do not move and no "predictive" button in the nav settings menu like the manual says should be there. Does anyone have the predicted course lines on their van? Thanks. Jared

Hello, I just bought a 2016 SL this week and I might be doing the same in the future. So far, here's what I found searching these forums and elsewhere: Stock wheels are 17x17.5 with a +40mm offset. Lug pattern is 8x165.1. I believe the center bore is 121mm. Most of the aftermarket wheels are at least one inch wider and have much less offset - which will set the wheels out further and in some cases interfere with the sliding door. I have found some wheels by a company called Vision or V-Tec that are carried by Discount Tire Direct. They have at least one model (372 Raptor) that comes in a 17x8 with a +25mm offset. That looks like one of the best potential fits I have seen. The inside if the wheel would protrude into the fender about .32" less than the original wheel and the outside of the wheel would be out about .82" further. The weight rating is 3600 lbs, so it should meet requirements there too. For some reason it doesn't show up on Discount Tire's configurator. You have to search by diameter and bolt pattern to find it. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing. Jared

Anyone have any feedback on this? I'd like to know too because we are considering buying one soon.

I got excited about this. Then I noticed that the article was posted on April 1st and thought - April Fool's Day joke? I was searching for more info and then figured out that this article was from 2014. A search turned up THIS article from 3-8-16 saying that they are installing a 2.8L diesel in the existing GM vans starting in 2017. Chris - When do you typically see order guides for the next model year come out?
