Hi, Jay here. Just bought a 2018 2500 hi-roof with some previous professional modifications for camper, and some really amateurish modifications inside. Has an exhaust fan, 2 solar panels, a porthole/hatch on the roof and some nice aftermarket windows. Only has 16000 miles, but has had an interesting life- it had been damaged, possibly repossessed and the guy who sold it to me bought it at auction. It drives great, bodywork is great, damage was nowhere near the front, so airbags didn't pop and I got a fantastic deal. That said, looking to do a somewhat minimal build and need to get the solar and other camper electric figured out. The "house battery" is missing and looks like someone just snipped the cables and took it. So far I've gutted the interior, put down a floor and am waiting on my insulation to arrive from amazon. I hope to have a first weekend trip the 25th of June, so i've got a lot to do.

I am new to the site and the NV. My story appears to be a common theme. I purchased a Cargo 2500 HD V8 for a personal conversion for long hauls and trips (Sleeper) and to tow my Car trailer. Prior vehicle was an Awesome Tundra V8 but it just did not fit our current needs. We make frequent trips to FL from KY (Home of our near Future Retirement) and going to Porsche Shows and gathering (Porsche 356). The site with all of its information has already been invaluable and hope to contribute as well (pay it forward). Per request, I have added a photo of the 356 Convertible D Roadster (1959). The pride and joy of my collection. Also the NV pulling my small cargo trailer on its first Florida trip 2 days after picking it up. Plain Jane at this point but already has gone through 3,000 dollars of transformation to conversion "Day Tripper"

In the near future, Ill be looking for a vehical to double as both a toy hauler (nothing too heavy) and a sleeper/camper. Ive really narrowed it down to four choices (ProMaster, Sprinter, Savana/Express, and NV), but after months of going over the pros and cons of each I will more than likely be going with an NV 3500. So basically I have a few questions and want to get better aquaintanted with the model before my decision is set in stone before I start saving up the money to start. I won't ask my current questions in this post, nor will I go into too much detail on what I wont to end up doing with my van (I will start a post in the NV 3500 section as soon as I am done with this introduction post for that), but I will say...As of this moment, these are my future plans for it, if I do go with the NV: 1) 4x4 Conversion 2) Stage 2 Supercharger Kit 3) Possible Air flow modifications (Intake, Header, Exhaust, etc) 4) Custom Frabricated bed frame...either bolted down to the back of a Cargo model, or a removable one built to latch into place using the seat anchors on the passenger model (I think Im leaning towards the passenger one) ...Then of course other things, but the bed and 4x4 Conversion are my priorites. So anyways, there is my Introduction and a brief idea of what I am hoping to get done with-in (would love to have it set up for use before Summer 2014, but due to financial reasons, it is doubtful. So on to my next post under the NV 3500 HD section, for a couple specific questions and concerns I have.
