chphilo Posted April 29, 2016 I have NVP 3500. On Nissan's own site, its GVWR is listed as 9430 lbs and curb weight as 6894. I thought payload is simply GVWR minus curb weight, which will give me 2536 lbs as its payload. But Nissan's site lists 3535lbs as its payload. How do they get 3535? radin2son Posted April 29, 2016 My guess is they are using the GVWR for the low roof cargo van not the NVP.
chphilo Posted April 30, 2016 Here is the link. The site clearly says it's for the passenger van. The numbers don't make sense to me since it's only the SL model that has this payload rating. Perhaps typo?http://www.nissancommercialvehicles.com/nv-passenger/specs?tool=vlp.nvpass.regional.specs.link Payload.tiff
radin2son Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) The curb weight for the cargo NV 2500 is 5996. The SMB conversion increases the curb weight to 6917. The cargo 3500 may be different. Either it is a typo or they are mixing vans. Edited May 2, 2016 by radin2son
mahu Posted July 26, 2017 The SMB conversion added 1000lb? interesting. I was expecting to come in around 8000 with the humans, dog, and water and packed for the road trip, but I must have underestimated the weight of the wood we put in as that is the main component besides appliances. We are at 8400lb and equal reserve on the front and rear axle. Without water, propane, humans, dog and baggage we should be around 7600lb which I feel is a good weight for storage during the winter.
