Flashman Posted May 10, 2016 I just traded in my 2014 NV SL Passenger for a 2016. It only had 22k miles and it was mint. But had a lot of bad luck problems with it. I dont like the way the AC system works in my 2016. When I start the van I press the ac button and it does not come on unless I press the round center switch or the left side auto switch. Then it defaults to 75 degrees and I live in Florida. The van is Black and I run on 60 degrees. So after a few adjustments its fine. But what really aggravates me is that every time I shut off the van with the ac set to on.Then start it up. The AC is off and I have to turn it on again and adjust my settings. Chris_CommercialManager Posted May 18, 2016 I don't think that I've ever been in modern car that does not do what you are describing. In fact I have a 2014 passenger van in the lot and it acts the same way as you are describing. Besides, I know that the subject can be taboo but a lot of people will tell you to turn your AC off a minute or two prior to turning the engine off as well as not starting with it on. radin2son Posted May 18, 2016 Funny, desert rats tell us to turn off our AC just prior to pulling into a rest area or into your driveway after long use. I tend to do this and leave it off after the engine is started. Why? Ice build up in dry heat? Who knows? Certainly was not my father, who told me to do this; he ran the AC full on no matter what. Froze in the passenger seat. He would cycle it on and off manually no matter how many times I asked him to reset the control. There are however no AC problems with the 2012 cargo. No dual zones... Flashman Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) The problem was repaired by the Nissan Dealer. Nissan crossed wires at the manufacturing plant in Canton Mississippi. The dash lights were not working and the key and headlights chime was also not working. Something is going on with quality control at the manufacturing facility. goingape Posted July 18, 2016 that sounds frustrating, my only issue with the rear ac is that the air doesnt blow out of the ceiling vents very hard even with the blower on full blast. I think I have a clogged or disconnected duct though. I notice a lot of condensation on the window next to the vertical section of ductwork above the blower. Kenny 29 Posted August 27, 2017 I have had the same problem with the rear a/c . I went through several blowers . I told the dealership that the ductwork or something must have come disconnected or it is plugged up .they would just replace the blower and tell me that it was working like it was supposed too. Ok so when the warranty was up and they would no longer warranty it , another blower went out . I had the hardest time finding the right part number. None of the part houses I went to could pull up the part or cross reference it from the old one . Come to find out Nissan uses that blower in several vehicles. The reason why the air is coming out of the return air vent . (This is the vent on the driver side panel in the rear) the coil was plugged up . I found carpet lent, hair and dirt at least a 1/2 inch thick . Once I got it cleaned and replaced the blower moter , the rear a/c started working like it was supposed to, just like it was when I bought it . This will continue to happen . Call the Nissan headquters and complain . Let them know the issue even if your vehicle is out of warrenty. This is a poor design . I am having the exact same problem and can't find info anywhere on how to fix. I suspected the same problem, found the vent, etc. Now, not sure what to do next.
