Flonative Posted May 24, 2016 OK, so we would like to upgrade the wheels on the NV. Using the factory 245/70/17 tires, what should the offset etc be? We don't want to change width of the factory tires. Regards Chris
jaredg Posted May 26, 2016 Hello, I just bought a 2016 SL this week and I might be doing the same in the future. So far, here's what I found searching these forums and elsewhere: Stock wheels are 17x17.5 with a +40mm offset. Lug pattern is 8x165.1. I believe the center bore is 121mm. Most of the aftermarket wheels are at least one inch wider and have much less offset - which will set the wheels out further and in some cases interfere with the sliding door. I have found some wheels by a company called Vision or V-Tec that are carried by Discount Tire Direct. They have at least one model (372 Raptor) that comes in a 17x8 with a +25mm offset. That looks like one of the best potential fits I have seen. The inside if the wheel would protrude into the fender about .32" less than the original wheel and the outside of the wheel would be out about .82" further. The weight rating is 3600 lbs, so it should meet requirements there too. For some reason it doesn't show up on Discount Tire's configurator. You have to search by diameter and bolt pattern to find it. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing. Jared
chphilo Posted May 28, 2016 I am assuming that you will be keeping the factory suspension. I am still trying to figure this thing out myself. Apparently the limiting factor is the sliding door. You do not want to deviate too far from the factory offset. I am looking for some cool black wheels with chrome/silver accent. My favorite so far: Method 301: 17x7.5, 25 mm offset. Ultra Maverick: 17x8, 20 mm offset Ultra Fanthom: 17x8, 20 mm offset It seems that more common are 17x9 wheels. I am not sure how low one could go in offset so that there's no rubbing on the door. Perhaps some more experienced members can chime in.
Flonative Posted May 29, 2016 So I ended up with these Rockstars and had them mounted today. Went through CarID and they were very helpful. Still not sure of the offset, but the door opens fine. chphilo Posted May 29, 2016 Looks great. Rockstar has 10 mm offset, it seems. That's good to know that offset works. Can you tell me how close your tire is from the door when it's open?
radin2son Posted May 29, 2016 Your news wheels do look great. I'm waiting to see who will be the first to powder coat the silver side door guide...

Can you tell me how close your tire is from the door when it's open?OK, so I just now opened the door and really looked at clearance. We better keep the proper air pressure in the tires, I'm like a heavy 1/4 inch of clearance between the interior door panel and tire!

chphilo Posted May 29, 2016 Now you guys mentioned it, the silver door guide bothers me. This forum is bad for my well being, both psychological and financial, haha.
