TAmc41 Posted May 26, 2016 Our NV3500 just recently stopped giving a horn beep when we lock the doors with the remote. I have checked and no doors ajar. Thoughts?
radin2son Posted May 26, 2016 In all probability it is one or both rear doors. This has always been the case when our NV locks but is silent. It also could be the sliding door that some have had to shim, but their problem was not locking or unlocking if I recall.

The doors are locking, it's just not causing the hen to beep.

andy_george Posted May 26, 2016 Hahahah! The horn does work when you press the center of the steering wheel I'd assume?
JB Harlin Posted May 26, 2016 Possibly you have unknowingly set the beep on lock to off. Try holding the remote Lock & Unlock buttons for a few seconds till the running lights flash. This is the enable/disable the horn on lock. 3 wollip, TAmc41 and TnV reacted to this

Is it in our manual?? 1 TnV reacted to this
JB Harlin Posted May 27, 2016 I need to try this just out of curiosity. Where did you learn it? Is it in our manual?? Yes, it is in the manual. That is the first thing I do. . . can't stand the honking. Could be that TAmc41 might have punched the buttons or maybe the computer has gotten confused. Worth a try to see if it fixes the problem. BTW; I am obsessed with reading manuals! B) 2 radin2son and TnV reacted to this

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. . . but. . . I may have read that manual but that doesn't mean that I remember it all. :headscratch:
Jeremie Conley Posted May 28, 2016 Tried this yesterday and it worked! No more horn when locking. Thanks everyone!
RICK Posted May 29, 2016 Mine is always the rear door not closing 100% at the bottom of the drivers side. Might need to adjust the bottom catch. I like the honk as it assures me the van is locked. My sprinter flashes the lights when properly locked. Rick.
