Thanks

While looking for a Jeep to buy I have been visiting several website forums and have noticed that many threads start off fine but after just a few posts people attack each other with little to no respect.

I have not noticed that a single time on this site. Thanks everyone.

That is quite common on all the huge sites.  More so on some vs. others but still common with vehicle sites especially if it has a huge following like a Jeep.  I am sure there are a dozen Jeep sites with 1000's of members.  We have just this little one with a tenth of that many people.

Plus we have NV's...  we arent exactly looking to put a 6" lift with 32" tires and 5 lightbars on our vans to go cruise the mall...

I let the mall cruiser comment slide because it's funny!

Good Morning Friends.  I haven't posted in a few months, but have been reading.  I hope all are well and everyone has a safe and happy holiday.  Cheers, Kevin

Hello NV Friends,  I hope everyone is surviving the winter.  Now that I have a Jeep we haven't had a single snow storm this winter.  I spent 10 days exploring the northern Georgia mountains a few weeks back.  Good times but I miss the comfort of a NV. Back to tent camping for now.

Take care, Kevin

Tent camping, not your fullbathtowmobile?

I think you mentioned considering one of those "car"top tents? We see a lot of them in our travels. I still think they would be a great way to turn an NVP into a camper van when needed.

There were a lot of rigs towing keeps at Organ Pipe.

I have seen several roof top tent setups.  I'm building a small enclosed 4'x7' trailer (think teardrop but rectangle) to sleep in and carry kayaks on top.  Top of the loaded kayaks will be just below my roof line and the trailer width is one foot narrower than my Jeep.

I'd prefer to not have the weight of a RTT always on the Jeep especially so high up.  Sold the toterhome and trailer.

I've seen trailers as well. Sharp. One was pulled by a fully restored 70s Toyota Landcruiser. When I was getting my tires today, there was a well worn Tacoma getting new BFG tires. It had a roof rack and a bed rack for a RTT.

Sounds like you are putting together just what you want. Need any recommendations for a pee bottle, shovel or bags to pack out the tp? It's not just the Feds who are changing public land rules, state lands have new rules as well.
