Ryan Stotts Posted December 27, 2016 4,000 miles. Left front strut is leaking oil. No way should it be leaking with this few miles on it. Check your front struts and see if they are wet or dry. Dealer has one on order from Dallas. The dry passanger side: The wet strut on the driver side. The lower control arm is soaked and it's dripped back(blown) on the inner fender plastic. I'd like for that strut to be on someone's desk and have it taken apart and examined. Otherwise it gets swept under the rug and nothing ever changes. If it winds up in the dumpster; it's business as usual and if it can happen again; it will happen again. 1 Bamps reacted to this
mk1_62 Posted December 28, 2016 While it shouldn't have happened, I doubt anything will come from your complaint. Manufacturing defects happen. I've ordered plenty of equipment over the years that have had one bad part or another. Nissan won't jump through hoops over a single instance, it's going to take a lot of these failing for them to take notice, and rightfully so. 1 andy_george reacted to this
Ryan Stotts Posted December 29, 2016 Just doesn't seem very progressive or proactive to not look into a defective part. I bet their competitors would be more interested in it then them.
Ryan Stotts Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) The dealer sent an email 2 days later at 8am saying the part was in. I scheduled an appointment online at 10am same day. They had it installed in less than 1 hour; no charge. Edited January 2, 2017 by Ryan Stotts 1 Bamps reacted to this
Bamps Posted January 4, 2017 The Nissan dealer I've been using fixes stuff right away. Glad it worked out for you.
CaptainLarry Posted September 28, 2018 I'm complaining about an 2014 NVP3500HD strut failure at 106k. All I have for comparison is my high endurance 2007 Tundra. Dealership changed strut in 1 hour? I can't get windshield washer fluid checked that fast. Is it that easy or did they pull wool over eyes? What about alignment afterward? Something is not right. I'm in for new suspension and tires all around on my '14 NVP (Parts = $1186.82). The complete Tundra job took me about half a Saturday. My second go may be quicker.
