radin2son Posted March 13, 2020 2 thoughts when I post something: I’m talking to myself or administering forum CPR. Saw an a blue or black NVP, lifted, 4x4 or both on River Rd near Shannon in Tucson. Rarity in that it wasn’t white and was modified.
aztec Posted March 13, 2020 On the plus side, we could be driving vans in dire need of a support group for guidance on their innumerable flaws and failures. 1 radin2son reacted to this
radin2son Posted March 24, 2020 In the 8+ yrs NVs have been on the road, I have seen exactly 2 being transported to dealerships. One was this morning hanging on for dear life on the upper back of a car transporter. White of course. Do they transport them only on moonless nights to preserve their “What is that?” status... radin2son Posted August 9, 2022 Just back from a 1600 mile trip to Colorado. Saw 10+ NVs, all but 2 were working vans. One was a Beyond and Above delivery hightop that delivers where Fedex and UPS won’t go. Back in 2013(?), Nissan Commercial made a “promotional” video on their relationship with this Phoenix based company and their test facility, also in that area. 500k on their vans. (No idea how new or old this one was.) 2 other Nissan videos to track down are the Titan test promotion and the extreme 4x4, diesel conversion of a NV 1500 or 2500 standard top. Saw a hightop camper conversion, white of course, going west on I-40 between Winslow and Gallup. Also saw a NV200 diy conversion.
Local Apparent Friday Posted August 9, 2022 Been seeing a bunch of NV's on our trip...mostly commercial work vans. I've seen a ton of other stuff as well...some commercial transit/sprinter conversions, some DIY promasters, and even a skoolie called Fancy. Been kinda quiet on our part because we've been crazy busy running the camp and now that I have free time, I'm using my phone as a hotspot to save the hassle of pulling out the starlink. Admin seems MIA since June, tried emailing but no response. Hope everyone is doing well. Still on the road for another week, we're in NH now after 3 weeks in Maine. -laf
radin2son Posted August 9, 2022 The camper vans of choice on this trip were custom builds on Sprinter 4x4 chassis’s. Of course, Subaru was the car of choice in Colorado.
Local Apparent Friday Posted August 9, 2022 We own a subaru...i'll set to work getting rid of it when we get home and I'll never own another. 1 radin2son reacted to this
radin2son Posted August 10, 2022 For as long as we keep our cars, our mechanic told us not to buy a Subaru. A mechanical/auto engineer told me Subaru’s are fine for as long as the warranty. He owned one at the time. In our case, we have no need for awd. So, no Subaru in our future.
Local Apparent Friday Posted August 10, 2022 Mechanically it's been one nightmare after the next and the rust is next level.
