Ryan Stotts Posted January 5, 2017 Mine gets up to highway speed just fine on the on ramp. It's peppy.
David Cauble Posted January 8, 2017 I purchased a 2017 NV 2500 SL V6 this week, and the engine has plenty of power.
Chris Dempsey Posted January 8, 2017 2014 2500 Hi-roof. I have the V6 and it’s been great. I carry about 500# and occasionally pull a 6 x 12 enclosed trailer loaded with about 700-800#. Barely feel I’m pulling anything. I live in SE Michigan which is very flat, so take that into consideration. The general consensus here seems to be if you’re towing a sizable load, get the V8. 1 Bamps reacted to this
mk1_62 Posted January 8, 2017 What kind of mileage do you v-6 folks get?
Ambulock Posted January 8, 2017 (edited) I have a 2015 2500 SL V6 high top cargo with 17000 miles, loaded with all my equipment, cabinets etc. I think it is very strong and gets going very well. I love it. Mileage is about 12-13 for me rural area. Edited January 8, 2017 by Ambulock
Ryan Stotts Posted January 9, 2017 I get 17 in mixed highway/city. 1 Bamps reacted to this
Chris Dempsey Posted January 9, 2017 13.5 MPG, mixed. I tend to lead foot it on the highway. 1 Bamps reacted to this
David Cauble Posted January 12, 2017 So far, I am averaging right around 16mpg. That is primarily highway driving.
breeze Posted January 12, 2017 Your wife and kids? You are a lucky man. Just how good of a deal is it, and when will your family outgrow it? If I can swing a 2017 NV 3500 Tall V8, I will be looking for 1M miles lifetime, if I live that long: and I will be shooting for 16 mpg average (unless towing, and then I just want to get there without tearing anything up on the powertrain.)
