NVP has been the best purchase for us!

Recommended Posts

Bought our 2016 NVP 3500 SL in March 2016. We are a family of 8 and have loved our NV. We affectionately call it "the Ark." We looked for over a year and talked to a lot of people, including our FedEx delivery guy. We ended up finding a dealership that doubled the drivetrain warranty (10yr/200k) and we were impressed with the standard warranty.

We've put 53K miles on it and have spent countless hours in it waiting for doctor appointments. It truly has been our home away from home. We had a two DVD screens installed with audio running through AUX input.

We cannot believe how many people ask us about the van or make comments when we are out. Never thought I'd have college students saying, "Sweet ride" to us. We've even had two people want to take their picture with the van.

I love the comfort of all the seats, especially the driver's seat. We use the heat feature on the front seats all year around for our bad backs.

We use a 64gb jump drive to play all our music from. Occasionally, I have to unplug it due to the stereo losing album/track names.

I've seen a number of other people few the rear A/C doesn't blow very hard and we would agree. The dealership said temp exceeded standards but we would disagree. We run it max most of the summer with the humidity here in Wisconsin.

At 49,640 miles our catalytic converter went bad. It had errored at 46k but wasn't "active" so dealership wouldn't replace it. Fortunately we had the 50k bumper to bumper warranty.

Just today our rear blower stopped working. I'll have to do some troubleshooting on it. It stinks that we are over our warranty. These issues are frustrating but in the end don't change our minds on the van.

I look forward to learning more from each of you.

Chris

Welcome to the site!  I am impressed with that mileage, I thought I put a lot on at 25,000 a year but you are over double that!  That is not good news about the cat went out so early.  They usually last for over a 100K miles unless your area has really bad gas.  Plus I assume that is mostly highway miles so relatively easy on the cat and engine.

Why are you out of warranty for the blower?  It's 5yr/100K factory bumper to bumper.  You have half that mileage and are a year old.

Any other issues?  We love our van and I used to get questions all the time.  Those seem to have stopped a few months ago.  Not sure if more people see them now or what changed.  Kids in the school line still get a kick out of it, I am by far the biggest vehicle in the car line!

Yeah I used to get lots of people asking me question about mine and wanting to look at it too. That has lessened it might be because you see more of them out there now. Most of my friends refer to my van as "THE BUS" and yes i'm also the largest vehicle waiting in line to pick up my kids too.

Welcome and congrats from Western PA. Same here. We used to get stares and questions quite frequently. Our Nissan van is the only one in small town where we live. Perhaps it's because everyone knows about our van now.
