Basic Titan work truck

Recommended Posts

Nissan just introduced the Titan XD Basecamp at the Overland Expo West Flagstaff, AZ.

If we didn't have our SMB, this would be the way to go, except I opt for the basic Titan with 4x4 if available.

trucktrend.com has an article with photos.

Hey, i was just at Homolovi not long ago too.post-1590-0-27555300-1495207211_thumb.jpg

The Titan has a regular cab now too, never did before. And i hear they're coming out with a "S" model with a 4.0L 6cyl. motor. Most other manufacturers have a base 6 cyl model, why not Nissan

Your photo looks suspiciously like Homolovi SP... It must be the shade trees. (Didn't see the text above your photo.) Good looking tt.

That was the S model we saw; I looked at the web site when we returned to Tucson. Never got a chance to talk to the owner. I would stick with the V8 for the same reason we opted for the V8 NV 2500.

Be sure to check out the Titan Truck of the Year video on trucktrend.com

Their 2012 or 13 NV high top is still being used as a support vehicle. Great wrap.

Beautiful country, Alabama Hills and the eastern side of the Sierras, CA. Our NVs can easily handle the roads. The dunes not so much...

One comment in the video, these 5.6 engines don't care if the truck is loaded or not; the same can be said for NVs with old or new 5.6.

I've seen the trucktrend one before.  They are really pushing the limits of the XD with that camper.  Truck campers belong on true 1 Ton trucks or bigger (F450 or similar).  They are super heavy and unstable.

I saw a blog, Adventure Journal?, that also featured this Titan and they were not that comfortable in some 4x4 situations.

The Titan tent option has appeared before. Remember the Pontiac Aztec? Whata vehicle...

The RTT on a bed rack is a much better idea and very popular in this part of the country.

While waiting for express service x2 this morning, I wandered around the lot looking at seriously discounted Titans and Frontiers. One 2017 NVP at $44k+ ($42k+ before dealer add ons).

What caught my attention was the just off the truck, 2018 Frontier 4x4 king cab with 6 speed manual. What a great truck! Already sold.
