2017 NV3500 Towing Running Light Fuse location?

Recommended Posts

Struggling locating the towing "running light fuse" in my 2017 NV 3500 van. I checked the main relay and it appears to be ok. The brake lights, flashers and turn signals all work fine. Running lights only are out. The local dealer wasn't much help over the phone. They directed to the relay only. I am thinking there is a standard fuse that is probably blown. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

The trailer running lights are not on when you turn on your headlights or parking lights on the van?  That is weird.  I assume you already checked the 7 way pin for 12v with the lights on.

I found some threads but they are for the previous gen Titan/Armada.  All point to a similar problem though (same fuses/relays)

Had the same problem with running lights not coming . Took two dealers before finally fix but they didn't show me. I believe it was a 30amp ( but not sure ).

I had the same issue and found there is a fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side that was blown.

I found this when I hooked up a friends trailer with bad wiring.  No trailer lights but the NV was fine.  Nice design in that it protects the truck lights.

As I recall I had to use most of my fancy words getting it replaced.  Not in an easy location.

If the running lights on the NV work but no power to the running light pin in the trailer connection, the fuse is in this block behind the battery. I believe it was F9.

There are two clips on the fuse block you can release and lift the fuse block up a bit.

The fuse purpose you are looking for is listed on the fuse block, not the lid.

Thanks for the posts! Have had this issue on my 2016 NVP 3500 for over 1.5 years and just found this forum. As stated, small 10 amp fuse in box pictured in post above was exactly the problem. It was a bugger to get to, but so happy now that my trailer running lights are operating again.

I hooked up a trailer to my 2018 NV2500 and the trailer had a grounded running & brake /signal light that shorted out the vans female 7 post factory plug .

Saw this post and found the fuse to the turn signals in the fuse box LAHARVIEW photoed. It was the15A you see when you open the box right next to the relay box and was labeled TRAILER TURN on the under side of the cover.

The running lights have several places to check. First in the pull out tray of the same above mentioned box under F4 10A labeled trailer tow. This fuse was good.

I now spent another couple of hours researching, calling dealer and rechecking...Nothing.....

Then noticed a box (not mentioned in NV hand book) mounted between the battery and head light, it is about 2'' x 5'' and has the same pull tabs as the upper boxes . In this box I found another trailer tow fuse 10A and it is marked under the box cover. It was blown. Running light and turn signals are back to working on van plug.

Hope this helps the next guy.

Hi and Thank you to all on the posts.

I had the same issues with the running lights, Only the running lights were not working, signals on my trailer were the only ones working.

Thanks to eded450 on the small fuse block on the front of the battery same issue with me the 10amp fuse was blown. Not your regular fuse type but local auto stores had them.

Thank you again

Thank you eded450. I have had 3 NV2500's, and had the trailer light problem with all 3. Dealer could not fix. Wish they had included the small fuse box in the manual. Made my day.
