ASD Dad.  Good to hear from you.

Hey Rad!  How is it over in sunny AZ?  Been a warm summer here in SC.  Looking forward to some cooler weather.

How's the NV running for you?  Our's is going strong but it sits days to weeks on end now.  I take it out once a month or so just to drive  it a little.

AZ has met its reputation. “You either die of thirst or drown.”

I think our NV is aging better than we are. It also sits unused most of the time, but nothing beats it for our needs on the road.

Working on deciding the best of 3 routes to Oregon coast. California coast is booked solid. Central is fast on I-5. Eastern Sierras, US route 395, and north are open to camping but not sure about impact of past fires. We like route 395.

Not much as changed over over the years on this site. Kind of reflects Nissan’s confusion about what NVs are. Work? Passenger?  Oh, they can be converted?

Amusingly, there is a pattern of threads asking whether or not the site will die and why there isn't more participation.  Kind of frustrating because the facebook groups stay rather busy, but I reckon it's an accessibility issue.  Any soccer mom with 12 kids can figure out how to access a facebook group, but forums are [apparently] outside the technical grasps of the majority.  I'm thinking about making up stickers for funsies to give away.  Maybe after the long list of other projects we've got going on.

Who are the NV face group users and what are they saying?  I ask because I always thought this site was more relevant for NVPs used to tow and diy conversions. Maybe more so now...

There's a group called Nissan NV Families that's mostly people either asking if the NVPs are good for big families, or cracking jokes about how many kids they have.  Then there's Nissan NV Owners, which is mostly people asking about the vans and whether or not they should buy them, and has a couple cool camper builds sporadically spaced in. Then there's Nissan NV2500/3500 Owners, which seems to be a little more NVc conversion oriented.  I think this site is more relevant for actual tangible information, especially from a technical level and/or DIY breakdown.  Facebook is good for topical information only.

Generally speaking, yes.  You can always add it to your signature if you want.  I personally try to avoid divulging too much personal information, and/or give incorrect information when required, as forums are publicly viewable to non-registered visitors.  That being said, I was honest when I said that I am in the Mid Atlantic Region and frequently travel between Maine and FL.

Hello, broken link in how to use forum post. I'm trying to figure out how to upload a photo or video which does not take up the whole page but is a thumbnail - see my test post in test post area. How do I do that please!

Also, what does the "days won" trophy mean?

Thanks

I can’t recall thumbnail being used. Gallery possibly. Looked at your test video/photo on my phone, and don’t see a problem. Viewing size seems to vary with number of photos downloaded. laf will more than likely offer a better response.

No idea what “days won” means. My guess is it is “meaningful” on a more active site.

I use my phone so less is displayed than when I use my laptop.

So.  To my knowledge, the site doesn't currently allow an easy way to resize.  You have to do it yourself either by manipulating the original image, manipulating the code itself, or by linking a thumbnail.  Imgbb is one such place where you can upload your photo and then select "html thumbnail linked" from the embed codes, if you are not able to manipulate the code yourself.

The "days won" metric is a measure of who received the most post likes in any given day.

Thanks RAD and LAF for the replies! I didn't know the thumbnails I see in posts are from them linking to a third party site - that explains it. I guess I will just have to size my photos to not take up too much room. Posts with thumbnails, if there are a lot of photos make it easier to read and see so I'll try to figure it out.

Wow I still get replies this thread. Guess I need to edit notifications!  Lol

I still have my NV but it’s still sitting most days. Works awesome for towing the camper and hauling extended family around but that’s all we use it for now.

Rad, how are you doing??  Hope all is well out west.

I cannot make changes like this directly, I have to email admin.  I will look at post counts and what limited traffic I can see and see about it.  Agree about post counts...it seems that only the technical crowd understand forums anymore these days...everything is done on facebook in groups, which I am not a fan of because things disappear and get buried.  Zuck seems wholly incapable of programming a decent search feature.  I do, however, try to comment and link here whenever I can.  It also doesn't hurt that you don't have to register for FB groups the same way that you do for the rest of the internet, but alas, the spam filters here are amazing.

ASD Dad, Read your post without looking at source. Then, “wait a minute.”

Doing well. Only planned to keep our NV for 10 years. 11 years as of a couple of days ago. Reevaluating how we plan to use it.

Still feel this is an amazing vehicle.  Amusingly, people still approach saying they’ve never seen one before.

LAF, This was more like too much time on my hands.

Might move the NV200e to a "non-North American market NV200", add in diesel and manual transmission stuff.  I see a fair number of posts from overseas that are confusing since they are asing about stuff that doesn't exist over here.

So little taxi, it could just be rolled into the regular NV200.

You can also make it better by allowing a choice for email notifications.  For some horrible reason Admin has it locked on that I will get an email for a couple categories.  When I get those, I will no longer respond to that thread anymore.  I DON'T want emails forced to my in box.  I'll get back to it when I get to it.  Adding emails is only annoying.  They would be blocked, except I may need an email to reset a password or something like that some day.
