Fatherof5 Posted August 25, 2017 #10 socket and small screw driver is all you need to pull the panel off. These are pics showing how I used the stock speaker mounts to mount new pioneer 6.5 in the door. 4 ASD Dad, Sebasmartinez, it-treker and 1 other reacted to this

Elijah Posted December 7, 2018 Just swapped out the door speakers using this thread. I liked the idea of cutting out the old speaker and using that bracket. The aftermarket 6 1/2 speakers fit great. I added some sound deadening material to the door and it sounded much better. The rear 6 x 9 speakers were pretty easy to swap out although I did have to drill new holes for the bolts. The rear panels were easy enough to take out by just starting from the runner along the back door first and then pull the paneling by hand piece by piece towards the front after removing the seats. I bought 56 soft off material and could probably have used another box just to do the sides front to back. Possibly 4 total of one I got the interior completely and deaden the whole thing. As is it sounds much better driving down the road. 2 andy_george and Ben Murphy reacted to this
Myhairychin Posted August 2, 2020 Great topic, thankyou to the thread starter for the pics, they helped loads to remove the door panels, i found 3 types of plastic pin clips on my panels, many orange, few black and a few white ones, the white pin clips were not so forgiving to pop off and all broke at the head that holds to the door panel so be prepared for that unless you have the proper popping tool to keep that from happening.. i used pair of Rockford fosgate 6.5 2 way speakers, they sound amazing !! At first i did the topic starters method of using the old speakers frame to hold the new speaker but found it made the new speaker hit the door panels when mounted back on so i took them off and used the mounting brackets that hold the speaker rings to mount the new speakers, it works perfect, loads of clearance for the door panels and the magnet from hitting the window, it also sounds better as it sits inside the chamber better creating thicker bass tones... i also added a little sound deadner to make it more solid... hope this adds a little more insight... cheers 2 Ben Murphy and radin2son reacted to this
