radin2son Posted November 4, 2017 Both the 4.0 and 5.6 have timing chains, 1 primary and 2 camshaft chains. Apparently, if Nissan oil changes aren’t done at proper intervals or the oil is the wrong viscosity, the primary tensioner can go bad and cause chain slack. $1500+ repair.
