Mister Tshirt Posted December 12, 2017 This was a minor inconvenience until today.I could walk around to the passengerside and get it.This AM with our 1st snow I started the van and got out to clear the snow only to be COMPLETELY locked out. Is this standard operating or is there something that needs to be fixed?Thanx for your help 1 windhog reacted to this
ASD Dad Posted December 14, 2017 Mine never does that and judging by the lack of response on your thread it doesnt happen to others. Something is wrong with your van. The only time it should lock by itself is when going over 15 mph.
trdriver71 Posted December 14, 2017 i would check your owners manual because i think you can program it to do that
Keathbordeaux@aol.com Posted November 4, 2018 I have a 2012 NV 2500 HD, high roof. Just today there is a loud buzzing sound in the driver door, whenever the van locks itself on takeoff or whenever I lock it with the door switches, or the remote. It almost sounds like gears grinding... Any clues what the issue is and how to fix it?Thanks folks.
Mister Tshirt Posted April 27, 2021 Ok update time. I have trained myself to take the keys with me whenever I am out of the van. So a bout a month ago It was a rainy day so I run from the kitchen I was remodeling out to the van to get something, to find it locked. ?!?!? So back inside and hit the unlock on the remote and wtach the lights flash indicating it has unlocked. As I cross the driveway, with the keys back inside the house, I hear the distinctive "kaklunk" of the doors all locking. razzlefrazzlerazinfrazmataz (in my best Yosemite Sam voice) Do I have a short some where, I have had similar problems with another vehicle that had wires that had worn insulation and would act up in the rain. I would consider disconnecting the auto lock on the drivers door to avoid having the van be in and out of the shop until they could figure it out. Any Ideas? CORVUS Posted July 24, 2021 I have a 2019 NV3500 Passenger. It locks the doors just sitting there. With or without a key inserted. I've been locked out and now have a Hide-A-Key. I had a 2016 RAM 2500 which did the same thing. I use(d) both for towing. This 'feature' is a real pain when setting up your tow. Has anyone found a solution to this. The dealer is no help. Thanks. Glidedon Posted July 24, 2021 The locks automatically relock if unlocked by remote and no door is opened within a predetermined time ~ 1 minute.
DarchyShort Posted August 6, 2021 This should be the issue with the remote, ask local auto locksmith to check or reprogram the fob with the car.
