New to the forum and need some advice

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I have been a 2016 NV3500 HD owner for about 2 years now and like the van but I am trying to see if any of you have swapped out the exhaust and installed a cold air intake.  Right now my NV is tows my Diesel Powered 1985 Jeep CJ7 around and when I towed cross country the van at times felt I it did not have any power.  The Jeep will weigh fully loaded around 5800 pounds after doing the dana 60 swap and the trailer if it fits the Jeep will weigh 2300 pounds so I will be still under the max tow rating of my van.  I have looked at the Nismo exhaust system for the Titan and from my understanding the NV is based on the Titan platform.  Also was there much change between the model years of 2015 to 2016?  Any help would be great, I am just trying to squeeze out more power out of the 5.6L that is under the hood of the van.  I am trying to avoid having to go to a diesel pickup at the moment, do not want to add another car payment also.  Part numbers and where to get them at would be great please.  Thank you.

Hi Geepman,

Mine is a 2015 2500 High Top 5.6 and I have not done any mods. I pull a flatbed with two antique John Deere's  weighing in at 6300 pounds over the Cascades and Rockies. It will run 55-60 up hill which is fine with me.

Do you know if the rear axle gear ratio changed 2015 to 2016?

Let us know how you make out.
