radin2son Posted April 18, 2018 Why there and what do you need it for? It is exposed to all sorts of road hazards, or maybe I just back into or run over them. We have a very small 2+ gallon tank midway on the driver side in line with the sink. It freezes solid like it would where the tire is. There must be other areas near the frame... I am planning to remove the tire below so that I will be able to use the space for a tank (if possible). Not sure if it is a good location to put a grey water tank. radin2son Posted April 19, 2018 Assuming your intent is legit, you must already know NV 1500, 2500 and 3500 are built for the North American market. I suppose you could buy a used one and ship it. But, why? There must be other more suitable vans in the Philippines...the NV 200 for one. Very popular camper conversion in the UK. radin2son Posted April 19, 2018 (edited) Emigrating or traveling to Canada definitely means you will have to winterize any van you buy. NVs are too short to waste space with a toilet and shower, so a bucket under a sink drain will suffice. The gray water tank on our NV is way too small to be of any use. Most likely it was required to meet Sportsmobile RV certification. If you want a full bath in your van, look at used extended Ford E-Series or Chevy/GMC vans. That extra 2’ or so will give you the room you need.Unless you need 2 spares, why bother. If you end up using ferries you may pay more for the extra length. You also have to swing away the spare every time you want access to the rear doors. That said, there are roads where 2 spares are recommended... radin2son Posted April 20, 2018 I had to look up Pajero (US Montero?) The problem with hanging a spare tire on the rear door is weight and damage to the door if tapped by another vehicle. You still see these on older SUVs and aftermarket on older Ford and Chevy/GMC vans. It does avoid having to move it out of the way when opening the rear doors.
