New to NV, but may get a little flack?

Recommended Posts

As the owner of a company that sells and delivers to several Toyota plants around the U.S. , we were in need of a new vehicle to support deliveries to the Toyota Mississippi plant. We also service some Nissan suppliers in MS. Being that we are in the state that is home to the NV, I chose to look at them in choosing a new delivery vehicle. I really did not anticipate liking this vehicle to much, as we see them at a nearby FedX facility at our headquarters in Kentucky, and thought they were rather an oddly conceived design (i.e. Butt ugly as noted by another forum member). I first saw a prototype 3 years ago at an automotive conference in Mississippi, and the looks of that prototype were a bit too strange. Just too awkward. But after comparing and driving these NV's, I was amazed at the functionality and great driving dynamics.

Went to buy a new 2013 NV 2500, but came across a 2012 NV3500 SV with just 12K miles, in like new condition. Saved some $'s and purchased it. I'm sure we may get a few odd looks when we make our daily deliveries at Toyota Mississippi, but since Toyota has no light commercial trucks (except Hino, which are crazy expensive), the Nissan fit the bill. We will certainly be the only supplier driving a NV there.

We also use Isuzu NPR's and they are great trucks, but we did not need a huge box truck in MS, so the NV was a great choice for this application.

I found this forum to be a wealth of good information, so thanks for operating this forum.

The ' Butt ugly ' kinda grows on ya , Imho it's a much better looking box than a E series or a Savannah... They look like they have a purpose ?
