Spitzbub Posted November 3, 2018 Can anyone please give me a measurement from the floor to the top of the windshield? In my wheelchair my eye level is 54 inches. I found a sweet vehicle I'd like to convert (removing the passenger seat to make room for the wheelchair), but it is across the country and I want to confirm the measurements sent by the salesperson. Thanks!
Mark Rogers Posted November 5, 2018 Which NV are you looking at? I have a 3500 I can measure when I get home. 1 radin2son reacted to this
radin2son Posted November 5, 2018 Your best bet is to contact Chris (704-552-9192) at Scott Clark Nissan in Charlotte, NC. He is the commercial and fleet manager. He has experience with this type of use and conversion. He also has ties to Chicago. 3 Mark Rogers, ASD Dad and andy_george reacted to this
Mark Rogers Posted November 6, 2018 I measured 49 inches from the floor to the lowest part of the headliner, which is slightly lower than the top of the windshield. I have a 2016 3500 passenger van with the standard roof. I second what @radin2son said. You should call someone who's done wheelchair conversions with these vans to see what they recommend. 2 ASD Dad and radin2son reacted to this
Spitzbub Posted November 10, 2018 Mark Rogers, I really appreciate what you did for me. Unfortunately my brother-in-law also took his tape measure to a 3500 he found, and it's probably not going to work (wheelchair most likely too wide for the space if we remove the passenger seat). We are disappointed but have a couple more contacts to check before ruling out the NV altogether. Thanks a lot, guy. radin2son, thanks, I have spoken to Chris in the past, a very knowledgeable guy. He said the wheelchair conversion companies are no longer working with the NV. 2 radin2son and Mark Rogers reacted to this
