5daughters Posted November 3, 2018 What’s up. Traded the wife’s 15 suburban in for one of these vans. She chose the silver 3500 SL. It’s one of the ugliest vehicals I have ever seen. I believe it was designed by an 8 year old with a box of crayons. Especially the front end. WOW. But, my wife and I have five daughters aged 2 through 13 and this is a different kind of luxury. It is absolutely awesome. I love driving it. I love the way it rides, drives, handles. The 5.6L really gives it some pep in its step and in all honesty it sounds like a beast when it’s idling. It’s begging for a K&N cold air Intake and dual exhaust. 3 radin2son, handsomeNV and Rahvin2j3 reacted to this
5daughters Posted November 3, 2018 Here are some pics of what I have dubbed it as “the tank” original condition with crap wheels and tires. New wheels and tires XD 20s with some nitto G2 grapplers 265/60/r20s. 5% tinit on all windows and front strip. Crap bull bar on the front. Have front air dam to install just haven’t found the time. Also have a metal fab shop building a custom top rack with a lower profile that contours to the roof to keep the clearance under 7ft-4. Had a new head unit and 15” monitor installed on the inside. Future mods will include black step bars, tinted head lights and tail lights. Blacked out emblems, billet grill, and blacked out door hinges on the back doors. You can’t polish a turd but this rolling whale is looking a lot better just with the new shoes. 3 handsomeNV, Rahvin2j3 and radin2son reacted to this
chphilo Posted November 4, 2018 Welcome to the forum.Yours looks pretty cool. I didn't like the stock wheels either so I changed them out. 1 radin2son reacted to this
andy_george Posted November 5, 2018 Good posts. We have 4 girls and have loved our silver NV 3500SL since 2015. The value over any other “normal” vehicle is mountains better. And the looks aren’t perfect, I’ll admit, but I always like to say it was designed to fulfill a purpose, not “styled” to be something it’s not. Happy trails!! 2 Mark Rogers and radin2son reacted to this
