RaisingRices Posted November 14, 2018 (edited) Looking at upgrading wheels and tires, I think I have a pretty good handle on tire sizes, but finding wheels that actually seem like they will fit seems to be more of an issue..... of course I am looking for black. Black rhino armory wheels are awesome but only come in 17"x9 So i am looking at these Pacer Nighthawk 166sb wheels.... (because they will fit the 255/75r17 tires I have) https://www.bbwheelsonline.com/pacer-nighthawk-166sb-wheel-17x8-5-satin-black-8x6-5-8x165-1-15mm-offset/ It seems like the 15mm offset should be enough, Any experience with these or similar wheels? chphilo Posted December 5, 2018 The wheel looks good, but I personally would go with something wider that 6.5. I have American Outlaw Bunker (17x8.5 with 10 mm offset) with GoodYear DuraTrac (245/75/17).

SonOfLiberty13 Posted January 14, 2019 Funny, I am looking at the same wheels, wondering the same thing. Recently got our NV, still learning the sizing & offset details since I've never owned something this big. Looking forward to getting answer(s). If not, can you measure the gap you have between the tires and the door?

Travis Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Hey guys. I am a new NV3500 owner and just put wheels on my van. I chose to run a 265/70/17 Falken wildpeak AT. Wheels are 17x9 +18 offset (Impact brand)The wheels were not my 1st choice but knowing there was an offset struggle I didnt want to buy expensive wheels that didn't fit. Overall the fit and look is tough and I like it. Edited April 27, 2019 by Travis 2 andy_george and danwcope reacted to this
John Posted March 1, 2019 Does changing the height of the tire change the speedo reading?
cray54 Posted March 1, 2019 Does changing the height of the tire change the speedo reading? Yes, the speedometer reading is tied to the rotational speed of the wheel, which will change when the wheels get bigger or smaller. You can use the tire height ratios to get a general estimate (A tire that is 3% taller will general read 3% lower on speed). The estimates don't always work because speedometers are not always an accurate representation in the first place. 1 andy_george reacted to this
John Posted March 1, 2019 So calculating gas mileage would be difficult. I'm just looking for a way to lower the ride height so I can park in my garage.
cray54 Posted March 1, 2019 So calculating gas mileage would be difficult. I'm just looking for a way to lower the ride height so I can park in my garage. Oh, calculating gas mileage isn't that bad, the odometer is much more accurate than the speedometer. Check the specs for revolutions per mile, and figure out your ratio. Mine is 1.032 new:old. So, when I calculation my mileage, I do: (Distance in miles) * (1.032) / (Fuel volume in gallons). Now, I can't picture putting tires small enough to make a significant difference (Tires a full 1" shorter will only reduce your clearance by 0.5"). Maybe some suspension work (lowering via suspension) would be a better option.
RaisingRices Posted March 9, 2019 Would love to see pics of these wheels when you get them.... seriously considering the same ones Hey guys, have been following these threads for a while and am looking to buy wheels for my 1500 Stock width is 7.5 but these 8.5 inch wheels were guaranteed fit from the guy I spoke to However I’m curious about the tires I saw someone else use these same tires Will this tire / wheel combo work for my 1500 Wanted to double check here before I pull the trigger Any help much appreciated
