MASpagnuolo Posted January 11, 2019 Hi there, I'm in the market for purchasing my first NV 3500 Passenger and I have found 2 very nice ones for sale used But without having any real experience with these vans I could use some input on which one you think is worth it. the first onehttps://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5BZAF0AA7GN854913it's a Black 2016 SV with the navigation package and a V8. it has 7K miles on it. the 2ndhttps://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5BZAF0AAXGN853500its a white 2016 SL with 18k miles on it. it also shows that the steering gear was recently replaced. they both are very similar in price. What I'm wondering is does the dual climate control, heated seats, front sonar system and full leather package worth it? I always thought more electronics more things to breakdown. anyway I'm throwing this out here to see what you guys think is worth my investment. 2 Mark Rogers and radin2son reacted to this
radin2son Posted January 11, 2019 (edited) Welcome. There are plenty of posts about dual climate control, front sonar and leather seats, some of which were not resolved. Do not recall any posts about heated seats. Your thoughts about less being better may be the way to go. Our SV ac works great all the time. Check posts on the dual control ac and test both NVPs. Do you have a front license plate? This has caused some problems with beeping for no reason other than the plate. Armed with this info you may be able to bargain for the SL. Any reason given for the steering gear replacement. You have plenty of mileage warranty left. How much of the 5 years is left? Mark Rogers Posted January 11, 2019 We love our 2016 SV. There are times when the kids are messy and we wish we had leather seats and rubber floor mats. I've never had leather upholstery in a car before, but I understand it tends to wear out faster than cloth. If you go with leather, you should apply leather conditioner every few months. If you go with cloth, put on some Scothgard every few months. I guess the leather vs. cloth decision is going to be a matter of personal preference. You can sit just fine on either one. The front sonar causes problems for some people, and I don't feel like I need it, so I'm glad I don't have it. The dual climate control would be nice to have, but I wouldn't pay a lot extra for it. If you want heated seats in an SV, there are plenty of heated seat covers available on Amazon. I'm glad the SV you found has the nav package. For navigation, you're much better off using a phone or aftermarket nav system. The real benefit of the nav system is that it includes a backup camera. That camera is very, very useful. 1 radin2son reacted to this
